FATHER-DAUGHTER 7th ANNUAL RECITAL DANCE
Song: LOVE by Natalie Cole
(some of you may have been in this dance in 2013, they'll make it easier for you But you still have to be present)
I appreciate your patience once again in planning and setting the dates for this seasons Father & Daughter rehearsals and routine. I've been trying to balance all our weekend commitments, students bat mitzvahs, competitions, vacations and holidays. That being said....
Remember if you cannot make EVERY SINGLE rehearsal, unfortunately you'll have to sit out this years father/daughter performance. There will be no exceptions. Mark your calendars and please DO NOT sign up your significant other if he cannot make every practice. The Annual AFDS Recital Father-Daughter Dance is one of the most anticipated and loved performances of each recital. That's why we need to make sure it's comfortable and organized for the kids and adults involved.
Both Dad (uncle, grandfather, teenage or older brother) and dancer must be present at all of these rehearsals in order to participate in the recital. Since this is a just for fun, free program and experience we do not have time to give private lessons, so please only agree to be a part of this experience if you will take the commitment to your daughter and the other couples seriously.
Of course, the dancer must be present so she knows where she is going on stage. If the girls are confused, it becomes overwhelming and chaotic. Never a good experience for anyone. Plus, it's fun and exciting for them to do this with their special guy!
That all being said...if you agree to the above please read on about the specific rehearsal dates and times. It's all here so please take your time and read it thoroughly.
COMMITMENTS/ MANDATORY REHEARSALS
MANDATORY COMMITMENT #1
- Sign up for 1 time slot ONLY using this doodle poll link below) - use dad and daughter first and last name --- for example "Bob & Isabelle Fields"
- The entire dance will be taught this day, so both daughter and dad (uncle, etc) must be present. No exceptions.
NOTE: Elite/Jr/Sr dancers wanting to participate please use the doodle poll to sign up for a time on 3/6 and then I will tell you which show you need to be in for the recitals, and rehearsals on 5/7.
MANDATORY COMMITMENT #2 Saturday, May 7th @ AFDS - Unlike the first rehearsal you must come to your assigned time slot to learn formations and spots to stand it.
- This is critical as the show is that week and we need to make sure you didn't forget the dance in the two months since the last rehearsal.
- PLEASE NOTE IF YOU HAVE A CHILD IN MULTIPLE SHOWS YOU WOULD NEED TO CHOOSE 1 SHOW OR COME TO MULTIPLE REHEARSALS (for example if you have 1 child in 2 shows you can either do one show and come to one rehearsal below or, do both shows and come to both rehearsals below)
- I know coming to multiple rehearsals is a pain but it's necessary and it's one day that you get to spend having fun with your special little girl doing what she loves to do. Totally worth it!
