Dear Promise for Haiti, HELP and Hopital Bienfaisance de Pignon Supporters, Mission Volunteers and Partners,

May we say Merry Christmas and Happy 2013 Year to all our supporters and all our fellow believers in Christ! The year 2012 has been a rewarding year in the sense that the Lord has put in our mission path thousands of believers to support His work in the Hospital, in 9 primary schools, in teacher's training, in farm work, in Bible classes in the schools, in feeding programs and more. To all those supporters, we say THANK YOU on behalf of the recipients in Pignon, Haiti.

More than 400 volunteers have visited us during the year 2012 and have worked as medical resources at the Hospital, as volunteers, men and women, building benches, chalkboards, desks, etc. for the schools. The students enjoy very much the amelioration of their conditions at the schools.

This 2012 year, it has been open at Hopital Bienfaisance de Pignon   a Prosthetics and Rehabilitation program and 56 prosthetic limbs have been delivered to handicapped patients.

This year 2012, we have been blessed by the Lord who is using our Hospital as a training site for 24 hospitals and health centers scattered all over Haiti. The program consists in training hospital affiliated Haitian technicians in medical equipment repair.  After their training, those workers will return to local hospitals and repair their hospital materials.

For all these blessings, for all the prayers and financial help from our supporters, we say Praise the Lord and may we all continue to unite in Christ and work in support of those in need.

Dr. Guy D.Theodore

Jaipur Prosthetics Center Reaches Far and Wide!

As stated by Dr. Guy,

"This map, with red dots with white halo shows the geographical distribution of where patients in need of prosthetic limbs. You can see that we get patients coming from upper half of Haiti. Reason why the lower half of the Map is not covered is that there 3 Centers of Prosthetics Limbs in the South, West and South-East of Haiti. We have already given 53 prosthesis (above & below knee). The Jaipur Prosthetics Center in Pignon is attracting patients from everywhere in Haiti!"

Pignon Improvements Are Recognized by Trask team!
trask team
In late October, Art Trask and team visited Pignon and saw several changes. Art reports that his team had a great experience and was very pleased with how things were improving in Pignon. "Having concrete streets and power poles were really a big change."

Art also stated, "The hospital staff was doing a great job as well. The medical skills of Dr. Garry Jean-Louis are superb as an infectious disease specialist plus being able to communicate in Creole made for an opportunity to give the hospital staff and the med students something they could clearly understand." Dr. Woods and the Hutsells were also very pleased  and handled 28 cases in 4 days!

Many thanks to Art's team for your support in Pignon!

Bio Med Students Meet for Training
Bio med students

Thanks to Rotary International and Houston Haiti Relief Initiative, students have learned the various techniques it takes to repair hospital equipment. This training has been
occurring in Pignon over the past 1 1/2 years and will continue for up to 3 years in order to help train technicians from different hospitals in Haiti. There are 24 hospitals and health centers represented from all over Haiti.
They have received training on Operating room equipment, Laboratory equipment, Radiology machines, and Sonogram machines. The students are now ready to learn about Eye equipment and Dental equipment. This is a tremendous change and blessing for Haiti!
