Matt Gray, the director of CCOP's Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program, knows the secret to opening a conversation about finding meaning and direction for one's life: BE YOURSELF!  This means acting naturally and showing your friendliness, individuality and a willingness to relate to others in a personal way - all done with a gentle awareness of God acting in and through us and our relationships with others.  When we listen and share ordinary things through the lens of God's love, the Light of Christ within us shines.   We can be evangelists just by being ourselves.

Last month, RCIA used the Feast of the Epiphany as an opportunity to discuss New Evangelization.  Matt prepared a handout for the catechumens and candidates using quotations from "The Joy of the Gospel" by Pope Francis (in red letters) and from "Saint Paul and the New Evangelization" by Father Ronald Witherup, S.S. (in black letters).  Read Matt's handout.
