Each year the Social Justice Committee administers the distribution of funds out of CCOP's budget to non-CCOP organizations that work for social change, do charitable work, or a combination of the two.  The total amount of money is about 4% of CCOP's budget.  For 2014 the amount will be about $75,000, and it will go to 84 organizations.  About $17,000 will go to organizations in the Tri-Valley, $29,000 in the SF Bay Area, $3,000 in California, $3,500 in the U.S., $3,000 benefitting Native Americans, $5,000 in Africa, $5,000 in the Pacific Islands, and $9,000 in Central and South America.  Funds are disbursed annually and recipient organizations report how the money was used.
