Mannkal's e-Focus

This month features part two of Australia's productivity and competitiveness series, with this month's article written by Chris Davis, WA Chair of AusIMM. The third part will be presented in the next issue of e-Focus.
Mannkal Scholar Adam Vilaca has recently travelled to Canada as part of a six week internship with the Frontier Centre for Public Policy. Adam has been busy updating us with his work at the Centre; please click here to view his blog posts.
UWA Business School student Helen Le will soon be leaving to take part in the Lion Rock Institute Mid-Year Program as a Mannkal Scholar. The History of Economic Thought Society of Australia will be hosting their 26th annual conference at the University of Western Australia Business School, Perth. This year, eminent speakers from around the world will be in attendance to discuss a variety of topics surrounding Economics, Law and History. The HR Nicholls Society Conference, 8th July, Melbourne
On the 8th July, The HR Nicholls Society will be hosting its annual conference with a half day format to encourage broader participation and media coverage. Notable speaker, Mr Paul Fletcher MP, a well known figure in communications policy and previous Senior Advisor during the Howard Government, will be addressing the conference on; 'Deregulation key to lifting services sector'.
Mannkal will be sponsoring several students to attend this conference which will include flights and accomodation to Melbourne. If you would like to apply, please submit your CV and a 300 word response outlining your interests in attending the conferene to donna@mannkal.org by 15th June, 2013.
The Liberty and Society Student Conference, 27th-29th September, Sydney
Do you like to challenge yourself, question the way decisions are made and think seriously about the future of Australia and New Zealand? If you have started exploring the possibilities offered by classical liberal ideas then this conference is an opportunity not to be missed.
The Centre for Independent Studies recognises the importance of exposing, challenging and supporting young people who have an interest in exploring the foundations of a free society.
