Mannkal's Focus
Greetings!,
April has started in an exciting way at Mannkal, with Tom G. Palmer, Executive Vice President at the Atlas Economic Research Foundation and Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute, visiting Perth as a special guest of both Mannkal and the Institute of Public Affairs. Whilst in Perth, Tom discussed his most recent book 'After the Welfare State', as well as a wide range of topics surrounding the future of free markets and libertarian thought. Please click here to watch Dr Tom Palmer speak at the event.
We also welcomed Tom as the keynote speaker for our first Mannkal/ECOMS Student Dinner for the year on the 4th April. The event was a great success and was received with great enthusiasm and feedback from the student guests in attendance! To view photos from the event, please click here.
Mannkal also sent four scholars to the Australian Libertarian Conference in Sydney. Students learned from world class guest speakers on topics including; the Moral and Historical Case for Freedom, Rethinking Externalities, and How Big Government Helps Big Business. Mark Maciolek, one of the scholars who attended the conference, discusses his experiences here. Please watch our Scholarships + Internship Section of Focus for updates on our latest opportunities!
This month also saw the loss of one of freedom's greatest allies, Margaret Thatcher. As a long time admirer of this great former politician and global game-changer, I felt compelled to reflect on the 'the kind of woman she is'. Please click here to read the piece.
