Candidate Forum
The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Candidates Forum for Baldwin County Commissioner candidates. The forum takes place Tuesday, May 13, at 6:00 pm and is open to the public. It will be held at the Daphne United Methodist Church Community Life Center, 2401 Main Street, Daphne.
Guidelines for the forum will include: candidates will answer the public's questions. Each candidate will speak only for themselves. When answering questions, each candidate will speak on the issues. A stop watch will be used with a thirty second warning for answers.
Questions will be accepted the evening of the event in writing - there will not be microphones set up for public comments. The attendees will be expected to show respect to the candidates. There will be no yelling, rude comments, name calling or booing. Signs will not be allowed to be held in the audience. Pamphlets and buttons may be handed out and worn.

Golf Tournament May 16

The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the 14th Annual Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament for Friday, May 16. This tournament will be held at the beautiful Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear. The course, a Robert Trent Golf Trail course, is owned by the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa. Registration is at 11:00 am with deli style lunch served and a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.
A four- man team is available for $700, which includes four packages. Individuals may sign up for $175. The Eastern Shore Chamber Golf Tournament is based on a 4-person scramble, playing off the best ball. Diamond Sponsor is Terry Thompson Chevrolet; Platinum Sponsors is Segers; Gold Sponsor is TrustMark Bank; Awards Sponsor is Zaxby's; Lunch Sponsor is EastPointe Hospital; Tee Sponsors are Daphne Utilities, Mobile Gas, Premier Landscape & Stone, Citizens Bank, Jim Goleman Agency "State Farm" and United Bank.
A percentage of the net, will be given to the Eastern Shore Chambers' Youth Leadership Program.
The Award Presentation will take place following the tournament.

Economic Development Update
of Baldwin County
The Eastern Shore Chamber Issues breakfast scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 8:30 am, will focus on "Economic Update of Baldwin County" with Lee Lawson, president/CEO of Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance. The breakfast takes place at Daphne United Methodist Church Community Life Center, 2401 Main St., Daphne.
Before accepting the position of President and CEO for the Baldwin County EDA in August of 2012, Lawson worked as an economic development representative for PowerSouth Energy Cooperative in Andalusia, Ala. from 2008-2012. During his time at PowerSouth, Lawson managed PowerSouth's domestic and foreign economic development efforts for its 39 County Alabama service territory. Lee Lawson previously served as vice president of economic development for the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance from 2006 to 2008, during which time he was responsible for marketing and the recruitment of new jobs and corporate investments. Lawson has also held positions with the Jefferson County Economic and Industrial Development Authority in Birmingham, the Madison Chamber of Commerce in Madison, Ala and Interned with the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama and the Business Council of Alabama.
Boards Lawson serves on: Business Council of Alabama Board of Directors, Finance Chair, South Alabama Workforce Development Council, Chair, Career Tech Education Council, Chair, South Alabama Economic Development Association and Former Board Member, Economic Development Association of Alabama.
Lawson resides in Fairhope, AL and is a native of Montgomery, Ala. and a 2003 graduate of Troy University, where he lettered in Men's Basketball and received a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and public relations. Lawson is married to Regan Ware Lawson of Mobile, and is the father of four-year old Knox, three-year-old Greer and 10-month old McRaye.

Rock Creek Golf Club Topic to Table Events
Rock Creek Golf Club is partnering with the Eastern Shore Young Professionals for their first of many Topic to Table events. To kick off this series, Fairhope Mayor Tim Kant will be here to discuss the booming Young Professional Population in Fairhope, their impact on the city, as well as opportunities, news, and updates for this growing segment. Be informed, enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by Rock Creek Executive Chef, Ashley Anderson, and network with fellow Eastern Shore Young Professionals. Ambassador of the Month
Congratulations to Cindy Zebryk, Realtor and Associate Broker at Coldwell Banker Reehl Properties, for being selected as Ambassador of the Month for March 2014.Cindy was selected because she attended numerous events, served as a liaison for the Chamber, and served on the Total Resource Campaign selling memberships and sponsorships.She is chairing the Chamber's Golf Tournament to be held at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear May 16, 2014, and is already busy with planning the event.
A life long native of Fairhope, Cindy resides in Fairhope with her husband Tad. She is a graduate of Fairhope High School and attended Faulkner State College. She has two adult children: Taylor Ripley and Allison Ward. She was the Broker at Magnolia Trace Real Estate in Point Clear, working there for 26 years from 1985 to 2011.
In her spare time, Cindy loves singing, calligraphy, making beeswax candles and assisting her husband in raising bees for local honey.
"I love being an Ambassador for the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce and growing my real estate business at the same time!" she said.
"The Ambassador program has helped me with my business, gain more knowledge of the Eastern Shore area and meet people," said Millie Sue. "Living in Satsuma made it a challenge to do business in Eastern Shore, but my Chamber membership gave me many opportunities to network and learn about the Eastern Shore area."

The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Collette Vacations to offer a fantastic deal on a whirlwind trip to Italy. And what's great about it is you have nearly an entire year to save up!
The trip is November 10 - 18, 2014. If you book now the cost for a double is $2,999 per person, single $3,349 and triple is $2,969. The regular rates are double $3,249, single $3,599 and triple $3,219. Included in the price is round trip air from Mobile Airport, air taxes and fees/surcharges, hotel stays and hotel transfers. You have the opportunity to explore the magic of Rome, Florence and Venice, which are filled with rich history, culture, art and romance.
