| |   Meet the Winners of the Annual Awards
      The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce held its 89th Annual Meeting June 27 at Oak Hollow Farm.        Sugarcane Jane provided entertainment for the event, which included dinner and the presentation of awards.       Millie Sue Hawk was presented the Ambassador of the Year Award, which is sponsored by Harbor Communications. Ambassadors spend many hours each month representing the Eastern Shore Chamber attending ribbon cuttings, visits to new members, grand openings and more.       ESCC President Darrelyn Bender presented the Bulldog Award to Mike Galiber and Kathleen Fernandez. This award is given to a chamber volunteer who has displayed dogged determination and tireless efforts in providing support to the members during the year.         The Service Award went to Sherry Sullivan, a 15-year ambassador for the ESCC. The award is presented to the volunteer member who has provided ongoing selfless service to the chamber.
 Paige Moore received the Small Business of  the Year Award which was sponsored by BBVA Compass Bank..  Moore, who owns Re/Max By the Bay, has more than 25 years of experience and has been ranked as one of the top agents in her state numerous times.      The Environmental Award, sponsored by Baldwin EMC, went to Joe Roszkowski and David Dekle of The Original Oyster House. The restaurant, a leader in the industry to become green, is a partner with the Gulf Coast Exploreum to help educate children about the positive effects of green energy. 
         Dr. Barry L. Booth received the award for Community Leader of the Year, sponsored by Bryant Bank. The longtime chamber member and Vietnam veteran has been an activist for veterans and spearheaded the Honor Flight South Alabama.        At the close of the meeting, the Chairman's gavel was passed from Kerry O'Connor of BancorpSouth to Deanna Auner of Homestead Village.  |

Pharmacists Kenny King, Renee Browning and their staff look forward to servicing the prescription needs of Daphne and the Eastern Shore.  Call 509-0616 for more informaion.       Navigator Credit Union celebrated the Grand Opening of its Daphne Branch on June 11 as it welcomed public officials and members of the community to its newest location.  The opening of the Daphne Branch marks a milestone for Navigator as the credit union's first location in Baldwin County.With the addition of this facility, Navigator Credit Union now operates 11 branches between Daphne and Gulfport, MS.  Operating hours for the Daphne location are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The new branch is located at 28520 U.S. Highway 98 in Daphne and includes 24-hour ATM access with free withdrawals for members. Ambassador of the Month         Congratulations to Diane Lynn Siefert for being selected as Ambassador of the Month for May. Diane participated in numerous Chamber events and activities throughout the month, earning her the most points.
      A native of Staten Island, New York, moved to Baldwin County in 1989 from Louisiana. She and her husband Edward reside in Marlow on Fish River and they also have property in Fairhope.The couple has two children, Jennifer Lynn Siefert and Edward C. Siefert.      Diane received her Bachelors of Science degree from Louisiana State University and a Masters degree in Accounting from the University of South Alabama.  She owned her own business Southern Accounting and Business Services.  She is now retired and enjoys creating art.      When not volunteering for the chamber as an Ambassador she also serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee and the Arts and Crafts in Fairhope Committee.  Her hobbies are painting, dancing, singing and reading - and she enjoys playing with her two 2 ½ years old granddaughters. |
