At this year's Teen Poetry Contest Reception, Edgar Allan Poe, Master of the Macabre, will appear as a special guest (portrayed by literary historian Rob Velella).  Following Mr. Velella as Poe, the winners of the Teen Poetry Contest will be announced. The theme for this year's 5th annual Teen Poetry Contest is terror.Contest winners will receive their prize and read or recite their winning poem. Refreshments will be available.
The Spring programs are underway!
There is still space for participants in Tuesday evening's Sweet Dreams Story Makers, Wednesday afternoon LEGO club, STEAM into Science on Thursdays, Baby Bookworms on Fridays.  Check out the children's room blog for all the details.

"Ask the Tank" Recently the members of the Teen Think Tank were asked what their favorite genre was and to recommend several of their favorite books within that category. See their extensive recommendations on the blog, under April 15

MAGE: Minecraft and Assorted Games for Everyone meets Wednesday afternoons 2:30 to 4:30. Bring your own laptop.

The Teen Think Tank meets on the first Thursday of each month to discuss programs and services specifically designed for teens. Share your ideas & have some pizza with us on May 7 at 6:30.

Wednesday Night Bookclub  The title for May 6 meeting at 7:00 is Lisa See's China Dolls. Coming up next is The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, (a staff favorite for nonfiction) for June 3 at 7:00.
