OFFERING YOUR TIME AND TALENT
|
SUMMER HOSPITALITY:
WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS: In order to give our barristas a break, our "Coffee hour" has become "CONFECTIONS & CONVERSATIONS" for the summer. Sign up to provide lemonade, juice, cool water and snacks for our gathering time following the 10am service. Families gather your friends and be the first to serve your parish! Contact Lisa Radike, 410-647-1721 or Chris Werth, 443-852-4679 PASTORAL CARE: ALL HANDS ON DECK: If you are looking for something to keep your hands and mind occupied this summer, take up your knitting needles and make a prayer shawl. The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies our thoughts and prayers for the receiver. If you'd like to try it call Lolly Bieri for more details, 410-421-5699. Please note you can use the yarn in the closet, but please do not take single skeins out of sets of 3 or more unless you are making a shawl, otherwise you can take whatever other skeins are in there. Completed shawls are blessed at the 10:00am service.
|
ADULT SPIRITUAL FORMATION:
EFM: Most find EFM intellectually and spiritually engaging and many find it a life changing experience! We will have 4 openings in EFM this year. The folks signed up to return to our current group are Wadi Williams, Susan Griesmyer, Jeff Dickerson, Pat Rayfield, Kris Chappell, and Thea Chimento.
Click here for an overview of what EFM is all about OR click here for a more in depth look a the program. If interested, see or call mentors Charlie Fitzgterald, 410-647-4622, OR John Dirks, 443-510-6126.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SING IN AUGUST: If you would like to sing with a women's choir, come join us on August 17th at 9:30am. If you would like to sing with a men's choir, come join us on August 10th at 9:30am. Music can be picked up now on the piano in the choir room!
PARISH CHOIR FOR THE COMING SEASON: We are pleased to announce that the Parish Choir will begin presenting a few musical events in the coming season. We will sing Gabriel Faur's beloved Requiem in early November. This will take some extra effort by our musicians, but the rewards of singing in choir are great - an opportunity for glimpses of eternal truth and beauty, week by week.
Wouldn't you like to be a part? We would love to have you join us!

BURIED TREASURE AT ST. MARTINS?: Treasure is more then gold and jewels, it is the history of an object or a place. We have buried treasure here at St. Martin's in the form of our historical documents and papers. If collecting information, gathering history, preserving records and telling the story of our parish sounds intriguing to you, then you should consider being our Church Historian. PIANO RESTORATION PROJECT
|
Many thanks to our parish musicians and supporters who have raised $10,300 towards the restoration of the Yamaha piano!
We do need to raise an additional $1,400 to fully fund this project.
Please consider helping this endeavor by making a pledge, large or small. The piano will be in the shop during August, and will be back "in the traces" in Early September. Please let me know if you can help, and if you would like to honor or memorialize a friend or loved one. Thanks so much!
