Estate planning attorneys advise clients to review their estate plans every five to ten years. Here are 10 reasons to do this.

1. You have experienced a change in your health or family circumstances.
2. The people you have named as agents on your health care power of attorney for power of attorney for property, which covers more than real estate, are no longer appropriate.
3. Your financial circumstances have changed significantly.
4. Your power of attorney documents are more than five years old.
5. One of your beneficiaries has experienced or may experience financial difficulties, divorce or a serious illness.
6. One of your beneficiaries has become disabled or has passed away.
7. You have moved to a new state.
8. It has been more than five years since you have reviewed the beneficiary designations on your retirement accounts and life insurance policies.
9. You have separated or divorced.
10. You have gotten married or are in a new significant relationship.

Our attorneys concentrate in estate planning, probate, and elder law.

Premise Alert
This program supports individuals living with disabilities, as well as police and
paramedics responding to calls at a specific address. This program requires 911 call centers to maintain a database of information about individuals with special needs when requested by families, caregivers, or the individuals themselves.
The program assists first responders in identifying individuals who have special needs, which enables them to have additional information in the event of an emergency.

For more information on the Premise Alert Program:

For the Suburbs, look at the city website or call the non-emergency police department phone number in the city where you or your loved ones lives.
