Parish Directory

An updated Parish Directory is available on our website at www.goodshepherdreading.org (scroll down to the bottom right of the home page).  The password is woburnstreet.  Please check your listing and contact the parish office by April 6 at cgsreading@gmail.com or 781-944-7572 if you would like to make any corrections or changes.  Once all changes are received we will post a new version.

Easter Flower Memorials and Thanksgivings

The deadline for submitting a memorial or thanksgiving request is Sunday, April 13th.

Donations are now being accepted for Easter memorials and thanksgivings.  Yellow slips are on both exit tables in the sanctuary and on the table outside the church office.  Please complete one and submit it with your donation.  You may leave it in the offering plate on Sunday or in the basket on the counter in the church office.  You may also mail your donation to the church; please include the names of the people to remember or blessings you wish to acknowledge as well as your name and phone number or email.

Annual Parish Auction -- April 26th!

Please mark your calendars for the evening of April 26th  for our annual Parish Auction. Social hour begins at 6:00 with the Auction at 7:00pm.  This year will feature a Cinco de Mayo theme, so start thinking about your festive attire now!

Donations of auction items are due to Merri DuRoss by April 12th.  If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Merri at mduross6@comcast.net or 781-944-2268.

Mowers Needed!
Want to work outside volunteering a couple of hours every six week or so during the spring, summer and fall?  Need volunteer hours for school?  The church mowing team needs you!  We supply the mower and gas.  It is self-propelled, but the terrain of the church is not flat so it takes some energy.  We dispose of our clippings in the compost pile.

The work takes about 1-2 hours and we think we'll have enough volunteers so you will only be scheduled every 6 weeks or so.  There is some flexibility, but we usually target Friday, Saturday or Sunday -- you choose when based on your schedule and the weather.  Please email Elaine Grosso at ecgrosso@ieee.org, call 781-942-1169, or text 617-909-5205 if interested.  Thank you!

Cleaning Team
We also need a cleaning volunteer to work approximately 1.5-2 hours every six weeks.  This would also qualify for school volunteer hours.  The cleaner will primarily be doing the following chores:
  • emptying wastebaskets (taking the trash home and disposing with your own trash if you can)
  • removing cobwebs all around the church
  • cleaning and refilling supplies in bathrooms as needed
  • dusting baseboards, pews, & windowsills as needed
Our cleaning team saves the church thousands of dollars each year. If interested, please email Elaine at ecgrosso@ieee.org, call 781-942-1169, or text 617-909-5205.  Thanks!

Opening for Church Fair Co-Chair!
Falliday Fair 2013

Our FALL-iday Fair will be November 14-15, 2014.  Yes, it's a long time from now, but by doing things well in advance it is fun and not a chore!  I am looking for someone to co-chair the event with me.  No experience needed -- I would love to get someone new involved!

If interested, please email Elaine Grosso at ecgrosso@ieee.org, call 781-942-1169, or text 617-909-5205.
