 BBB Scam Alert: New con targets Festival Goers

In Southeast Louisiana there is always a festival and we love to attend them. Unfortunately, scam artists have figured out a way to con festival goers by selling fake tickets to non existent events. 
 This summer, don't fall for a festival scam. Scammers are tempting would-be festival goers into buying tickets for events promising all-you-can-eat crabs, live music and other fun. But in reality, either the ticket or the event itself is fake.

BBB Customer Reviews: How it works for you!     

BBB Customer Reviews don't actually affect your BBB rating, so why should you care about them? Simply put, consumers trust online reviews! In a 2013 survey, 85% of consumers said that they read online reviews for local businesses. With the increased emphasis of online research before doing business, generating positive buzz is the best way to create leads online. We encourage all businesses to promote this new service to their customers. It is important to note that business cannot offer any incentives to customers that submit BBB Customer Reviews.


 
BBB Scam Tracker                                                  

Better Business Bureau has launched BBB Scam Tracker to provide consumers across North America with a place to report scams and fraud, and to warn others of malicious or suspicious activities. All 112 BBBs operating in Canada and the United States are now collecting information from consumers and processing data, which is shared with law enforcement agencies for use in identifying and prosecuting scammers.
