 The IRS impersonation scam is back and with a vengeance. Your BBB has been fielding numerous calls regarding this scam. This scam first surfaced at the beginning of 2015 and has made a comeback. Find out what you need to know about this scam and how to avoid it.

IRS Impersonation Scam Strike Again


The IRS impersonation scam is one of the most persistent cons out there. It reappears every few months, and this summer it's back with a vengeance. BBB has received numerous complaints about aggressive calls by fake IRS agents.


 

BBB Tip: You Can't Win It If You Didn't Enter It

 
BBB� is warning about a Facebook International Lottery scam. A local resident says they were contacted via Facebook Messenger claiming they won $250,000. Shortly afterwards, a message was sent with an official-looking Facebook certificate and a link allegedly to a FedEx delivery website along with instructions to pay delivery fees allegedly to FedEx.

Scammers are giving get-rich-quick schemes a high-tech makeover. By promoting "money flipping" scams on social media, they are appealing to a new, younger audience, according to the National Consumers League.
