A new scam involves schools that receive

invoices for supposed text book or other items. The problem is that the real company has not sent this invoice. Don't fall for this one - read our article below.

Watch out for scammers pretending to represent the Social Security Administration or Service Canada. Con artists are contacting citizens via email and requesting personal information, which they use to commit identity theft.

In the wake of the latest possible data breach, this one at home improvements giant Home Depot, Better Business Bureau offers the following suggestion for consumers concerned that their credit or debit cards may have been compromised by a retail or online data breach.

 

  
 
BBB Warning: Schools Getting Fake Invoices
 

Better Business Bureau is warning schools and school districts across the country about possible fake invoices for educational supplies. In the past few weeks, there has been a rush of complaints filed with BBB against "Scholastic School Supply," which claim either a Nevada or New Jersey address that turn out to be mail drops.
