Top 5 Summer Scams

Summer is a great time to take that long-overdue vacation or make much-needed home repairs, but as the weather heats up, so do scams. Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about these popular summer scams.

Scam Alert -- Your Credit/Debit Card Hasn't Been Deactivated

With many banks offering fraud alerts for credit and debit cards, it can be easy to fall for fake versions. Watch out for automated phone calls and text messages that claim your card has been deactivated. It's really an attempt to get you to share banking information.

Scammers Impersonate schools and steal supplies

School may be ending for the summer, but this school impersonation con is just ramping up. Scammers are posing as school representatives and ordering thousands of dollars of goods on real credit accounts.
