Netflix Subscribers Being Targeted With Phishing Scam
Scammers have found another opportunity to steal personal information from consumers. A new phishing scam has surfaced that is targeting Netflix subscribers, according to the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Users that are targeted will be led to a phony webpage that may resemble the Netflix login page. The Netflix users will enter their account information and the fake website will claim that the user's account has been suspended. A fake customer service number is provided and a "representative" recommends the user download the "Netflix support software," which is remote login software that gives the fake representative full access to the user's computer.
Netflix has a good reputation and scammers are taking full advantage of that. Anyone could fall for this scam.
There are three key indicators consumers should look for that show an email involved in this scam is not from Netflix: First, the phone number is not Netflix.Instead, the number belongs to a call center in India. Second, the webpage is a popup. Third, the "representative" wants to login to your computer via remote software.
Here are some tips on how to avoid this scam and others like it:
- Never let someone login to your computer remotely. When someone logs in, they can do anything you can do on your computer. They can access anything including personal and financial information.
- Do not click links in emails. It is better to type the address in the search bar manually.
- If the URL seems odd, do not continue to go to the site. If it is a scam, it will most likely have an unusual URL. It will likely contain a common name but be accompanied by some jumbled letters or numbers.
- Always look up the company's phone number on their website. If you need to call a company, look it up on their official website. This can make sure that you are calling a legitimate number.

Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right this National Nutrition Month
March is National Nutrition Month, and Better Business Bureau has joined with other organizations in supporting acts Up Front, a voluntary effort that puts more prominent nutrition labeling on the front of food and beverage packing.
Simple steps can help you plan meals your family will love that will keep them healthy. Planning ahead and comparing foods will help you make healthier choices for you and your family.
Choose foods that have:
More nutrients needed for good health. Look for potassium, fiber, calcium, protein, iron and vitamins A, C and D in Facts Up Front labels.
Lower saturated fat. Choose oils for cooking and lean cuts of your favorite meats. Stick with low-fat or fat-free dairy products and add seafood a few times a week into your diet.
Less sodium. Use Facts Up Front to help identify products with lower amounts of sodium. Try the reduced versions of your favorite foods and use more herbs and spices in your cooking to add flavor.
Less sugar. To satisfy your sweet tooth, eat fruits for snacks and/or dessert. Drink water when you're thirsty.
Calories that help you meet your daily target. Use the Facts Up Front nutrient calculator to determine your daily calorie needs and check the Facts Up Front labels to see how many calories are in a serving.
Resources:
BBB's Children's Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative (CFBAI) is a voluntary self-regulation program comprising many of the nation's largest food and beverage companies. The Initiative is designed to shift the mix of foods advertised to children under 12 to encourage healthier dietary choices and healthy lifestyles. Thirteen of the 17 companies in CFBAI are participating in the Facts Up Front program in an effort to help consumers make informed food and beverage choices. For more information on how CFBAI's participants have improved cereals, the food most frequently advertised to children, check out the latest Cereal Snapshot.
Facts Up Front labels display how many calories and how much saturated fat, sodium and sugar is in each serving. Some labels may also provide information about other good nutrients, such as fiber and calcium. Facts Up Front is a voluntary initiative led by the Grocery Manufacturers Association, which represents the nation's leading food and beverage companies, and the Food Marketing Institute, which represents more than 1,500 food wholesalers and retailers.

Setting Goals: 3 Strategies for Getting the Most Out of Your Business
For any business, setting benchmarks is essential to achieve success. Better Business Bureau and the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF) recommend three strategies for achieving your business goals.
Find mentors to emulate. Who do you aspire to be like? Potential mentors could be people you work with, or even in a completely different industry whose road to success is worthy of imitation. Identify your mentors' work ethic, habits, education, or whatever it is that deems them worthy of your aspirations. If possible, talk with them about how you can achieve your goals by following in their footsteps. Use the resources available to you in order to achieve your goals.
Make adjustments to your business and its direction as quickly as possible based on facts and results. When things aren't going well or as you had planned, take a step back and analyze why this may be happening. As soon as you realize that you need to make a change, consult with mentors and use the information you have to adjust. Test out a new approach, review the results, and adjust if necessary. There is no sense in repeating an action that fails to deliver your desired outcome.
Build a strong foundation for your business by avoiding shortcuts. Your business must be built on ethical business practices, knowledge of your product and company, a desire to improve via professional development, and a commitment to representing your company and serving customers to the best of your ability. If you take shortcuts in any way, your business will suffer. One area where many business owners take "short cuts" when they are busy is skipping professional development, but that could shortchange your success. Make it a priority to attend, listen to what is being taught, incorporate relevant matters into your business, and always strive for improvement. You cannot expect success without hard work. The positive side is that by putting in the work and avoiding such shortcuts, you are more likely to rise above the fray and meet your goals more quickly.
