Credit reports are more important than consumers may realize. The website annualcreditreport.com gives consumers access to free credit reports each year. Our second article tells you how to stay on top of your credit and one step ahead of identity thieves!

 

Last month we told you about "Robocalls" and the problems associated with them. The FTC has been working to try and put a stop to these annoying calls. Find out what they have come up with and how soon it could put an end to these calls.

Credit Reports Are an Identity Theft Protection Tool

The majority of adults in the U.S.-65 percent-have not reviewed their credit reports within the last 12 months, according to the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. During Financial Literacy Month in April, Better Business Bureau reminds consumers to keep track of their credit reports to help prevent identity theft.  
  
 
Is an End to Illegal Robocalls in Sight?

If you are not already a victim and have never heard of a robocall, it is a pre-recorded telemarketing call placed by computers that dial telephone numbers in sequences - home phones, faxes, businesses and cell phones at blinding speeds. Anyone who knows about computers understands how many calls can be placed per second.
