"Violence against children is never justifiable. Nor is it inevitable. If its underlying causes are identified and addressed, violence against children is entirely preventable". - Kofi Annan, United Nations Secretary-General (2006)
In 2012 the Women's World Summit Foundation expanded the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse - November 19 into the 19 days campaign to run from November 1-19 each year. The goal of the campaign is to increase commitment, activities and education and to mobilize communities throughout the world around child abuse prevention. The 19 Days Campaign serves as a reminder to all of us that there is something each of us can do to make a difference in our community to prevent child abuse. The United States pays approximately 550 billion dollars per year to cover the effects of child abuse and trauma. In the US, by the age of 18, 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually molested, and more than 80% of the abuse is never reported. Read more

The Child Advocacy Center offers naming opportunities to those who wish to honor or memorialize a family member, friend, or business with an extraordinary and special gift. Such named gifts provide a meaningful way to honor a business or individual while benefitting the significant work of the CAC. A plaque outside the designated room will identify the name of the honoree, providing enduring recognition. Naming opportunities range from $5,000 to $20,000 depending on the room selected. Named gifts may be paid in full immediately or pledged over a three-year period. Naming opportunities are limited and will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Information can be found on the CAC website or by calling Roberta Humphries at (910) 486-9700 or email at cacdirector@childadvocacycenter.com
