Steel Magnolias, Inc. presents Mothers & Daughters Together a Part of the Solution

This workshop will focus on self-esteem, decision-making skills, and communication and will expose mothers and daughters to their global economic, social, and spiritual surroundings.

These programs are appropriate for adults and can be scheduled for your group by contacting Faith Boehmer at (910) 486-9700. Chosen is appropriate for ages 13+. In 2012, the CAC trained 1,201 adults through these prevention programs.

What We Do
Our Vision: A Community where children live in a safe and nurturing environment free from sexual and physical abuse.
Our Mission: Joining hands with community partners, we provide a safe and child friendly Center that supports the prevention, investigation and prosecution of child abuse.
During FY 2013, the Child Advocacy Center served 465 children and their families and, by our coordinating efforts, saved the community an estimated $500,000.

19 Days of Activism; November 1-19, 2013

The Women's World Summit Foundation launched the "World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse - 19 November" in the year 2000 and in 2012 began extending that initiative into 19 days. The 19 Days of Activism Campaign runs from November 1-19 each year. The goal of the campaign is to increase commitment, activities and education and to mobilize communities around child abuse prevention. 19 Days of Activism is an international campaign that came about because abuse and violence against children and youth continue to be worldwide problems that violate children's rights and impair their healthy development. Twenty Organizations Earn "Partners in Prevention" Designation

The Child Advocacy Center will host the seventh annual American Girl Fashion Show� on Mar. 22 & 23, 2014 at the Crown Coliseum Ballroom. Tickets will be on sale through Ticketmaster in time for holiday giving.

Many of you who read our newsletter and contribute to the Child Advocacy Center often wonder how you can guarantee that your legacy of caring for child victims of abuse and fighting to prevent child abuse will continue for generations to come. One way you can ensure that our work to protect vulnerable children will continue is by providing a gift from your estate to the Child Advocacy Center. There are many options available for making a planned gift to the Child Advocacy Center. It can be through a bequest in your will, donating life insurance or designating retirement assets. We recommend that you consult with your tax advisor or planning professional when considering a planned gift to the Child Advocacy Center.

T-Shirts for Sale
Child Advocacy Center T-shirts are available for $10. Sizes available: Youth Medium, Youth Large, Adult Small, Medium, Large, X-large and 2XL. Youth shirts are teal and adult shirts are red. Proceeds benefit the Center's child abuse and prevention programs. Call or stop by the Center to purchase a shirt.

The CAC will participate in both the SECC and CFC. Our SECC number is 1807 and our CFC number is 37137. We are very grateful for your designations.
Speakers' Bureau
