The "NYC Makers Show" in New York City, at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This current exhibit, in the cultural capital of the World, will run until October 12th. It contributes towards fulfilling MAD's ongoing commitment to extraordinary craftsmanship across all creative fields in the City.
The show features the work of a jury-selected 100 "Makers" - inventive artisans, artists, and designers who create exceptional objects or environments through their exquisite workmanship and skill,.
Gem artist John Hatleberg represents gemcutters.
John's replica of the Koh-i-Noor diamond is exhibited set on John's incredible bejeweled workstation. That ornate workstation (see the picture), crowded with John's personal collection of gems and stones, provides insight into his practices and his frame of mind as he produces exact replicas of famous diamonds.
The opening drew a large crowd.
