Grow Your Business with Email & Social Media simple marketing strategy for small business & nonprofits

Many small businesses and organizations find themselves seeking the right strategies, tools and tactics to make their marketing efforts as effective as possible.  But between Facebook and Twitter, email and mobile, deals, and whatever new social network is rolling out that month-there's a lot to keep up with. And there are only so many hours in each day.  The number of possibilities can feel overwhelming.  This session will help make sense of the noise.  Today we're going to show you how to make the most of the combination of email and social media for your business.  When the session is done you'll have a greater understanding of marketing basics like goals and objectives.  You'll learn what a "campaign" is and what to write about and offer in that campaign.  You'll be given some simple but powerful tips for how to get your messages opened and read, shared and socially visible.  And you'll see that there are some great tools you can use to help engage with your existing customers and supporters as well as expand your reach to new prospects.  Throughout the session you'll be given opportunities to capture your own ideas and build out the framework of your own "next great campaign."  So join us and start to build a plan that will help you grow your business by eliciting the responses you want from your customers or supporters.

Bedford wins Serve Pro's 2nd Annual Softball Challenge

This year Bedford took both the trophy and honors!

Team Bedford lead by captain Amanda Aiken of SERVPRO oLexington/Bedford knocked Team Lexington out of the park with an overwhelming victory of 16-1. Both Teams Lexington and Bedford are comprised of residents, Chamber members,  Rotarian's, BNI's, and local business. Team Lexington may have been the defending champs, but Team Bedford arrived with the big bats and brought the heat on an already sweltering day. The first inning they batted in 5 runs setting the stage for Team Lexington of what was to come. Team Lexington did not score a run until the 7th and final inning of which Team Bedford scored 7 runs. The game ended on a high note for Lexington getting that one run scored thanks to the third base coaching and bat of James Harrington. The game was left with high spirits and a rematch in the Spring.

Most importantly, regardless of the outcome, a large amount of donations were brought to benefit both the Lexington and Bedford food pantries. The challenge has been issued to Team Bedford and Team Lexington is ready to reclaim the title next spring.

Players on Team Bedford are Left to Right
Tim Owens(Pitcher), Eric Gaalaas (Bedford Resident), Will Sullivan, John Urquhart, John Volante, Terrence Parker(Bedford Resident), Cliff Rober(Bedford Resident), Amanda Aiken (ServePro)

Bedford Seeks Input from Small Business

Are you a small business? Have you recently gone through the process to receive a permit or license for your business through the Town of Bedford? What would be helpful information to provide upfront? The Economic Development Office seeks your input. The Town is developing a permitting guide for small businesses and would like to include helpful tips for existing and incoming businesses on the process for setting up shop here or expanding your existing business. Please contact Alyssa Sandoval, Economic Development Coordinator, at 781-275-1111 or by email at to provide your feedback.

                                Friends of Matty Fundraiser

Matthew Langone was a healthy, vibrant 4 year old who loved basketball, Spongebob and Disney World. In January 2009, Matthew complained of stomach aches and leg pain. Matty's family was devastated when he was then diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma. Friends For Matty Foundation, Inc. was founded by Phil and Tina Langone in memory of their son Matthew who lost his life to cancer in 2009. They are holding their 2nd Annual Gold Ribbon Gala on September 11, 2015 at the Doubltree Bedford Glen Hotel
Second Annual Gold Ribbon Gala. Tina was recently interviewed on the Chamber connection show, which can be seen here. If you are interested in sponsorship please visit the Friends for Matty website.
Town to produce a Business & Community Guide
The Town of Bedford is developing a new 2015 Bedford Business & Community Guide later this year with the assistance of Global Design & Publishing. This four color, magazine-style marketing publication, with 12+ pages of information, photography and advertising, will show why Bedford is a great place to work and live and will highlight Bedford's many business assets. They are offering local business owners and institutions the opportunity to support this initiative by purchasing advertising prepared for you by Global Design & Publishing, LLC.

The Bedford Business & Community Guideis a great way to introduce your company to other businesses, the community and visitors to the Town. Copies will be distributed to various locations including: Bedford Town Hall, the DoubleTree by Hilton, the Bedford Depot Park Visitors Center, and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce. The town will use it in meetings with existing and prospective businesses, commercial brokers, local media, developers and corporate consultants, and for distribution at business conferences. It will also be available on the Town of Bedford's website to bring your message to the internet.

For information on  advertising rate, contact Kelly Tourtellotte, a representative of Global Design & Publishing.
