Business Development Updates
|
1. Cultural District Application. The Economic Development team is working with the Town of Bedford and will be reviewing the application process. One of the main goals of establishing a Cultural District is to increase customer traffic for nearby businesses. If the application is approved, the Chamber may become more involved in terms of consolidating information about promoting different cultural activities. Right now there are multiple resources/boards/etc... As a result, not all the activities get promoted effectively. Some other Chambers such as Concord seem to do this effectively. 2. Great Road Shopping Center. The center is expected to get a minor renovation which will include new paint and other updates. 3. Depot Kiosk. A new map with improved visibility for nearby retailers is expected in the next 2 weeks. 4. China. According to recent reports, tourists from China in Massachusetts spend many times more than tourists from other Countries. The number of non-stop flights from China to Boston has increased again. As a result, The Chamber is planning to add a Google Translate button to it's web site.
