It's Time
To Get Off The Hamster Wheel!
Just being in motion will never get you to your Big. To do that, you need to be sure you're doing the right things, in the right order, for the right reasons.
This seven-step system clarifies the activities that are mission-critical to your success. It then walks you through a process for creating step-by-step action plans to implement those key activities.
The result? You get off the hamster wheel of motion-without-progress and get on a more direct route to more clients and more money.
Forget about being busy; start getting focused by downloading your no-charge PDF version of the Take Action Now System (tm) today. |

Greetings!
One of the many discoveries I've made as we settle into our new home is that my husband and I often have very different ways of doing things. We typically get similar results, but the ways we go about achieving those results often look very different from each other.
I've realized that, if I'm not alert, I get hung up on how something is done, rather than focusing my attention on did the process produce the outcome I wanted. I tend to think my way is best (Joseph will second that), and Joseph tends to think his way is best (I will second that), and it doesn't really matter. The bottom line is this: Whether we do things his way or mine, we usually end up delighted with the result. Realizing this has saved me untold stress that would have come if I'd tried to force Joseph to do tasks the "right" (i.e., my) way.
When and where are you creating stress in your business life by insisting that the how is more important than the what that's accomplished? If you have a sneaking suspicion that you're making life harder than it needs to be in this regard, see if the following ideas can help you keep your eye on the important ball.

Tip of the Week
Stay focused on the outcome, not the process.
Not only does this free you from the stress of trying to insist that there's only one way to do things. It will also keep you from getting overwhelmed and quitting when the steps of whatever process you end up using are uncomfortable.

A Really Good Resource
By now, you've probably realized that I love movies that make me laugh and simultaneously have a powerful message to share. This week's movie pick, Monsters, Inc. , speaks directly to the benefits of keeping your eyes and mind open to a different way of doing things. In Monstropolis, energy is produced by gathering the screams of children who are frightened by "monsters in the closet" - who happen to be employees of Monsters, Inc. While this is how energy has been produced as long as there's been a Monstropolis, our two heroes discover that making children laugh actually produces ten times the energy that making them scream does. Along the way, we see the power of love and friendship, how good triumphs over evil, and how working for the good of all actually is a great route to personal success. I strongly encourage you to grab some popcorn and treat yourself to a private showing. You deserve it!

How's This for Success?
John and Maggie Stafford know that you're far more likely to be successful if you don't insist that there's only one way to be successful.
The Staffords own and operate Buddy Gourmet, a companion-animal bakery and boutique in Clinton, Iowa. While they initially thought their revenues would come almost exclusively from products offered in their downtown store, they were very open to exploring additional revenue sources. That was a smart thing to do, because it led to them creating a line of fresh dog food that - because it uses only human-grade ingredients and apparently tastes fabulous - now accounts for approximately half their revenues. Note: If you feel your dog deserves this top-notch food, but you don't live in Clinton, don't worry: The Staffords ship their food all over the U.S.

Thanks to my friend Flickr.
Here are this week's heroes who graciously allowed me to use their images, posted in the Creative Commons area of Flickr, in this issue of Stepping Into Big:
