Kickstarting Connections, Creativity, Community at ILA2014
ILA is delighted to welcome Josh Linkner--five-time successful tech entrepreneur; CEO Managing Partner, Detroit Venture Partners; and bestselling author of Disciplined Dreaming - A Proven System to Drive Breakthrough Creativity --

Josh Linkner is on a mission to help the world unleash its creative mojo. The five-time successful tech entrepreneur and CEO/Managing Partner of Detroit Venture Partners delivers a clear call to action -- it's better to disrupt your organization before your competition does. The riskiest move companies can make today is hugging the status quo -- believing the future will be like the past is the fast road to obsolescence

Call for Proposals
The 2014 ILA Annual Conference theme, Kickstarting Connections, Creativity, Communityfocuses on how libraries align ideas, passion, and commitment to cultivate connections and create imaginative approaches, methods, and/or library services across Illinois communities.  Actively share ideas by submitting a conference proposal and kickstart the conversation!

The ILA Annual Conference Program Committee is seeking program proposals that enhance relationships and demonstrate connections between libraries and their patrons, partners, other libraries or communities; proposals that stimulate imagination, foster creativity and ingenuity; proposals that engage communities and demonstrate leadership for libraries of every size and every type.  Whether you are in an academic, special, school, or public library; a human resources, marketing, facilities, or law professional; or in a rural or city library serving a large or small population, we ask you to consider submitting a proposal.  Please consider collaborating and partnering with each other to truly demonstrate connections.

Consider submitting proposals that go above and beyond the basics. Libraries interested in facilitating a hands-on experience(s) for conference attendees should indicate this in a program proposal. Use your imagination to kickstart connections, creativity and community!

Proposals for participation in Poster Sessions, the Maker Showcase, and Author Showcase will be accepted at a later date.

Become catalysts for the larger world and kickstart strategies to connect and create Illinois library services for communities large and small. Attend the 2014 ILA Annual Conference at the Prairie Capital Convention Center, Springfield, IL, on October 14 -16, 2014.

Support the ILA Endowment at the End of the Year

As you think about your year-end contributions, consider making a tax-deductible gift to the ILA Endowment by the end of 2013. One of our goals for 2013 was to rebuild the Sylvia Murphy Williams scholarship fund so we could once again offer $500 scholarships to winners of the ALA Spectrum scholarships that are enrolled in graduate programs in library science in Illinois. This important effort to build a diverse library workforce is one we hope you'll all join us in supporting! To contribute, visit the ILA website and donate today!
