Packed Session with Duckworth in Bloomingdale
U.S. Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth held a Congress at Your Corner event at the Bloomingdale Public Library on Saturday, March 23. Congress at Your Corner is an opportunity for residents of Bloomingdale and 8th Congressional District to share their questions, comments and concerns with Congresswoman Duckworth.
In light of recent legislative redistricting in Illinois, ILA is making a concerned effort to make sure every library gets to know their state senators and representatives BEFORE you need to ask for their help on a particular issue. Follow the lead of Bloomingdale Public Library Director Timothy Jarzemsky who invited Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth to the Bloomingdale Public Library. Take a photo like the one above (shown in photo are from left to right: Head of Adult Services Julie Keating, Library Director Timothy Jarzemsky, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (front center), and Bloomingdale Village Administrator Martin Bourke), post it on library and community websites, send a copy to any local news outlets and to the representative's or senator's office. The "Contact Your Elected Officials" link on the left tool bar of the ILA website will connect you to the senator and representative for your district-find out who they are and ask them to visit the library or other location in your community. While you're at it, check out the ILA Legislative Action Network (LAN), a fast action, e-mail alert system to let library supporters know when legislative involvement is needed. Join the LAN today and be a part of the team that is working hard together to strengthen Illinois libraries. To sign up for the LAN, please click here. |
