On Wednesday, the Insurance Federation of Minnesota's bill to curtail fraud in the auto insurance marketplace will be up for a hearing in the Senate Commerce Committee. The bill has been crafted by the Senate's Anti-Fraud Working Group, and represents compromise language that has been worked out by insurers and representatives of chiropractors and trial lawyers. This bill has a better chance of passage than most of the several no-fault reform bills that have been introduced in the last decade.
However, there is still some opposition to the bill. The MIIAB has been working with the Insurance Federation on this proposal and is very supportive of the bill. We are asking you today to call you State Senator to indicate your support for this proposal, Senate File 2372.
The bill is authored by Senator Vicki Jensen, a MIIAB member and agent in Owatonna. Lets help Vicki in this effort!
