Community Screening ofBook-to-Action Videos Saturday, March 30 2:00 p.m. - Main Library In 2011, Hayward Public Library launched the first Book-to-Action program in California. Its success prompted the California State Library to promote the program throughout the state to encourage more libraries to match community-wide readings of books with volunteer activities. Come to a community screening of videos the Hayward Library produced about its Book-to-Action programs, including last year's series focused on Infinite Vision by Pavithra Mehta and Suchitra Shenoy and the distribution of free books by Hayward volunteers during the first U.S. World Night Book program. Celebrate the love of reading and civic engagement in Hayward, and find out about the library's next Book-to-Action program. |
