Fighting air rage - we ALL need to help!
A lot's been said in recent weeks (not least by me) about the security challenges travellers - leisure and business alike - face nowadays, and how we need to be ever more determined and vigilant in the face of terrorism, from wherever it emerges. But a couple of incidents have also occurred, in which airlines (most recently Jet 2) have had to deal with unruly - often drunk - travellers, and in many ways these misguided people pose just as much of a threat to the safety of other passengers and crew, as do terrorists. Part of the freedom we enjoy in the UK is that we can, for example, have a celebratory drink to start our hard-earned holiday - pretty much any time of the day or night - but for a few foolish people, one is not nearly enough, with some potentially dangerous consequences for all. No responsible traveller wants to dampen the holiday spirit, but we do need to lead by example - show some moderation ourselves, and offer airport, airline, port and shipboard crew our moral support when a fellow passenger cracks a dangerous joke or becomes abusive. In this case, we're ALL definitely in it together!
