A Compilation of Community News You Can Use

May 1, 2014

Happy May Day!

Spring certainly has blown right in. While I'm enjoying the beautiful, fragrant flowering trees, I think the pollen that's in the air is causing me to have seasonal allergies like I've never had before. Perhaps you can relate. The other negative side effect of wind is that it discourages me from riding my bike. Yes, I'll ride in sub-zero temperatures, but constant, gusty gales which almost blow me over keep me from riding. It's more than annoying. (ARGHH!)

But thank goodness the weather forecast looks much less windy for this weekend. Beyond getting out and riding on my own, I'll be helping at the Women's Bike Expo at The Gardens on Spring Creek. I invite you to learn more
and join me. You can hear about the Expo and all things BIKE by listening to KRFC 88.9fm this evening at 5:55 p.m. FC Bikes Program Manager Tessa Greegor will be my guest to talk about all the exciting plans Fort Collins has for two-wheeled transportation.

I also invite you to attend this month's Caring & Sharing gathering next Friday, May 9; Melanie Kelsey from Best Start for Babies will be our guest speaker. C&S is a very popular monthly meeting full of networking opportunities and useful information. Last month's guest was Dawn Putney from Toolbox Creative. She shared ways nonprofits can better utilize social media. Review her presentation.

Another great source of information is the monthly cable television show I host about all things health. Watch the most recent episode which features the PVH EMS/Ambulance Service; it provides so much more than 911 care.

Enjoy and have a healthy day,
