GOTR-STL Recycles!

Girls on the Run St. Louis partnered with St. Louis Earth Day Recycling On the Go to decrease the environmental impact of this fall's 5k.

With the help of dedicated volunteers and race participants, we collected approximately 8 cubic yards of recyclables and 6.6 cubic yards of compost. With only 2 cubic yards of landfill waste produced, almost 90% of the total waste collected will be recycled or composted!

A huge thank you to St. Louis Earth Day and especially to Bob Henkel and race committee member Molly James who worked to ensure our efforts to go green!

Race Results, Photos and More!

Gazelles Run through the Streets of Downtown St. Louis

The fall Girls on the Run 5k in St. Louis, November 16, was a huge success! 10,000 people gathered downtown to run, cheer and support more than 2,600 girls who completed the Girls on the Run program this fall at 123 schools across the metropolitan area.

More than 5,800 runners crossed the finish line, many sporting accessories related to our "Run Wild" theme and brightly colored hair. There were many joyful and excited smiles to be seen following the race. We hope that our runners come away from the race with the feeling that if they can run a 5k, they can do anything!

Results and Photos:

The giving season is upon us . . .

At GOTR-STL we are kicking off our end of year Annual Appeal as we work to raise money for our scholarship fund. We are dedicated to ensuring ALL girls can participate in GOTR regardless of their ability to pay for the program. This school-year we will distribute more than $380,000 in scholarships!

There are so many ways that we can come together to support the program and help make GOTR possible for every girl that wants to participate!

We are kicking off our Annual Appeal on #GivingTuesday.

#GivingTuesday™is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season.

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two days for getting deals. This year help support us on #GivingTuesday, Tuesday Dec. 3, 2013. When you begin the holiday season, please visit our website and make a gift to our scholarship fund in honor of your GOTR, her coach or our mission to empower girls for a lifetime of healthy living.

There are also many ways to make gifts to GOTR-STL at no additional cost to you!

AmazonSmile - You shop. Amazon gives.

Another great way to give to GOTR-STL is through the Amazon Smile program. The program enables Amazon shoppers to easily donate 0.5% of their purchases ($.50 per $100 spent) to their favorite U.S.-based nonprofits.

All shoppers need to do is search for and then select their favorite nonprofit to have 0.5% of their Amazon purchases donated. This is a great way to give back while you're taking care of your holiday shopping!
