Spring 2013 Registration Begins

Get ready, get set . . . REGISTER!

Registration for the spring Girls on the Run and Girls on Track season will open on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. and close on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at  midnight. A parent/guardian must complete an online registration form for each girl. Click here for more information about the registration process, a list of participating sites this spring and their practice days and times as well as a registration checklist so you'll have all of the necessary information available when you go to sign up.

Please note: Registration is NOT first-come, first-served.  To ensure your daughter has a chance to participate, you must register her between Jan. 28-Feb. 8. No one can be added to a team after Feb. 15 OR if a team is full, registration will not reopen for that school after Feb. 8.

The Girls on the Run program is for elementary school-aged girls, typically in grades 3-5. Our Girls on the Track program is for middle school-aged girls, typically grades 6-8.

The 10-week season will begin the week of Feb. 18, 2013 and runs through mid-May. Participants meet twice weekly, usually after school, for approximately 75-90 minutes each practice. The season culminates with a 5k event on May 11 where all Girls on the Run participants throughout the St. Louis region come together to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments.

Sign up to join the movement starting Jan. 28!

Please consider a donation to Girls on the Run St. Louis to help us deliver our mission of inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  All proceeds stay in the Greater St. Louis area.

Run for the Girls

So many of us start the new year with resolutions, goals and a re-dedication to those things that drive our happiness.  Often this includes setting a goal for running a spring race. As you begin your training, bring the mission of Girls on the Run St. Louis with you each time your feet hit the pavement. Become a SoleMate and use the power of running to make a difference in the life of a girl.

SoleMates is the charity running leg of Girls on the Run St. Louis. Male and female athletes pursue individual goals to raise money for GOTR-STL. 100% of the funds raised through SoleMates stays in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan area to ensure local girls a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.

SoleMates

If you are looking to add more meaning to your race, we encourage you to become a SoleMate. We offer discounted entry fees to some races - including the GO! St. Louis Marathon Weekend events - fun incentives and a community of incredible runners working to provide the GOTR-STL experience to every girl that wants to participate!

Just as Girls on the Run St. Louis uses running to transform the way girls see themselves and their opportunities, SoleMates are changed by their experience as well.  It is very easy to get involved. You can learn more on our charity running page.  Register today!

Join our SoleMates Facebook group to discuss upcoming social runs, events, trail runs, fundraising opportunities, and anything you'd like to share. It's a great way to communicate with past, present and potential SoleMates or to see what's going on in our running world.

If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to call our office at  314-862-6266 or email us for more information!
Newest Girls on the Run

10 year logo
As we prepares for our largest GOTR season in our 10 year history, we are excited to announce two additions to our staff. Meet the dynamic women who will help us serve a record number of girls during the spring 2013 season and beyond!

Nancy Holm, Program Coordinator, Illinois - Nancy loves running and spending time with spunky, confident kids! She joined GOTR-STL as an assistant coach at Signal Hill School in Belleville, Illinois in 2011. Watching the program inspire confidence, friendship and fitness among her daughter's friends, Nancy became a loyal GOTR-STL supporter from her very first practice. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma and has worked both domestically and internationally in higher education and youth programming. After 16 years of stay-at-home parenting and extensive community volunteerism, Nancy joins the GOTR-STL program team with a fierce commitment to making girls' lives richer through participation in this unique program.

Tanya Whitt, Program Administrator - Tanya joins the GOTR-STL team with a strong background in project management, customer service and design. She is a graduate of Texas State University with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences where she majored in interior design with a minor in business administration and art. Tanya's professional career in interior design focused on designing functional spaces, but her passion in life is helping others, particularly youth. Tanya followed that passion to GOTR-STL, where she is excited to have the opportunity to combine her passion with her work. Tanya and her husband are members of Old Orchard Church in Webster Groves and both love to run and bike around Francis Park in South St. Louis.

We welcome and congratulate both Nancy and Tanya on their new roles with Girls on the Run St. Louis. We hope you get to know and work with our amazing team!
Thanks again for your support. We can't run without you!

Sincerely,
Girls on the Run St. Louis Staff
