Press Conference
Press Conference

On February 14, 2013, the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce held a press conference to announce the opening of Lincolnton's newest fine dining restaurant, Homestead's grill and taphouse. Pictured is Elizabeth Oakes, Kitchen Manager, Jamel Farley, Restaurant Manager, Byron Sackett, owner and President of Hurrican Management LLC. Present for the press conference were representatives from the local media, including the Lincoln Times-News, Lincoln County Herald, and Lincoln County View.

Homesteads grill and taphouse is located at 357 North Generals Boulevard in Lincolnton, NC and plans to open in early March 2013. The new restaurant will feature a variety of American cuisine and will offer a friendly-family atmosphere. The entree selection will feature fresh hand cut steaks, seafood, pastas, salads, sandwiches, and much more. The taproom will allow guests to choose from 18 draft beers featuring regional drafts as well as NC wine on tap.

In addition to the dining room and taproom, Homesteads will offer multiple banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 125 people. The private rooms feature technology that will allow guests to host business seminars, class reunions or any special event.

Homesteads grill and taphouse will create approximately 90 jobs consisting of both part-time and full-time employees. Homesteads is locally owned by Byron and Christy Sackett. Byron is a veteran of the restaurant industry, most recently, bringing Fatz to Lincolnton in 2003 where he served as the Operating Partner. The management team will be led by Jamel Farley, a native of Lincolnton. Elizabeth Oakes will be the kitchen manager bringing over 15 years of experience in the position.

"Homesteads concept embodies high quality food and service by using the latest technology and community involvement will play a key role in our restaurant's success," commented Byron Sackett, restaurant owner.
