TO SERVE AS CHAIR OF THE BOARD IN 2013

 

 Melisa Harrison, 1^st Advantage Insurance Group will serve as the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce's Chair of the Board in 2013. Mrs. Harrison has been active in the Chamber for the past several years as an Ambassador and Chamber Board member. She is currently serving as the Chamber's Chair-Elect and Vice-Chair of East Lincoln Relations.

 

Mrs. Harrison also participates in the Chamber's East Lincoln Leads Group and attends most Chamber events. On November 2, 2012, she will lead the Chamber's annual Planning Retreat/Community Roundtable which will be held at Verdict Ridge Country Club.

 

Mrs. Harrison lives in Eastern Lincoln County and is active in the East Lincoln Betterment Association and Junior Achievement. She has been appointed by Lincoln County Commissioners as an Ombudsman for the Centralina Council on Aging and is a member ofWestport BaptistChurch. She is married to Roger Harrison and they have three children, Justin, Mariah and Tyler.

Newly Nominated Board Members to Serve in 2013

 

The Chamber's Nominating Committee, chaired by Melisa Harrison, 1^st Advantage Insurance Group, has nominated the following people to serve as new board members and Chair-Elect beginning in 2013: 

 

David Boyles - Carolina Furniture Mart, 2013 Chair-Elect

Chris Rhyne - Rhyne Financial, Treasurer

Tim Gause - Duke Energy

Mark Ingle - Ingle Builders

Michelle Johnson - Unique Transportation

Tim Orrell -  Orrell's Outdoor Service 

 

According to the Chamber's By-Laws, additional names of candidates for Directors can be nominated by petition bearing the genuine signature of at least 10% of the membership of the Chamber.  Such petitions shall be filed with the nominating committee within 15 days after notice has been given of the names of those nominated.  The determination of the nominating committee as to the legality of the petition (s) shall be final.  If no petition is filed within the designated period, the nominations shall be closed and the nominated slate of candidates shall be declared elected by the Board of Directors at their next regular board meeting.

Participating from the Chamber was Past Chair of the Board, Donna Beringer, Carolina Federal Credit Union. The Republican Party's new location is at 417 East Main Street, Lincolnton, NC.  

 

The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce conducted a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Race City BBQ and Grill on October 16, 2012.
