ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Training

Once again ley hill solutions have teaSGS logomed up with our partners SGS to provide an excellent ISO 9001 internal auditor course.

This is a two day non-residential course being held on

4th and 5th February 2015.

The course tutor and course materials are being supplied by  SGS, world leaders in this field, whose training is certified by IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors).

The training develops the skills needed to assess and report on the conformance and effective implementation of processes, and to contribute to the continual improvement of a quality management system based on the ISO 9001 standard.

We believe it represents outstanding value for money at only £525 per participant - for comparable courses of a similar calibre you will find other reputable training providers charge at least £100 more.

This is for individuals and organisations who wish to improve their skills and knowledge in the successful implementation of the ISO 9001 standard. Or for those who would like to better manage their operational processes and procedures and achieve consistent delivery of customer requirements. For more information on the standard itself and how this can bring benefits to your organisation, see our Toolkit article below. To learn more about, or sign up for, our training, which is being delivered for the first time on the 4th and 5th of February 2015, see our article to the left below.

On a lighter note, I hope you enjoy our Christmas Quick Quiz. We have certainly had fun researching the answers. All of us at ley hill solutions wish you all the very best for the coming Christmas holiday season, however you are spending it, and a happy and successful 2015.
Our Toolkit - ISO 9001

One of the most widely used standards, the international standard ISO 9001.focuses on ensuring the delivery of customer requirements and the continual improvement of the management system, operational processes and procedures used by the organisation. The current standard is ISO 9001:2008, (although a major revision is planned for release in 2015)

The benefits of ISO 9001 are

  • Helps the organisation deliver products or services that meet customer needs
  • Encourages employees to deliver high standards
  • Reduces re-work and waste
  • Provides qualitative and quantitative data from audits etc., thus helping to target process improvement
  • Is a logical and important foundation step on the journey to 'best in class'
  • Supports other business models e.g. the EFQM Excellence Model
  • Improves employee confidence, pride and morale
  • Certification gives external recognition to the organisation

However, implementing a management system like ISO 9001 is much more than creating procedures and ticking boxes. It should change the whole culture of the organisation to look at business improvement and ensure that it can strive for excellence in the longer term.

Answers to Christmas Quick Quiz

Written by James Lord Pierpont, a New England born songwriter , "Jingle Bells" was originally meant to be sung for American Thanksgiving. Published under the title "The One Horse Open Sleigh" in the autumn of 1857, it is now popular throughout the world in association with Christmas.

In the17th and 18th centuries, Lauscha in Germany became known for its excellence in glass-blowing and it was there that, in the early 1800's, Hans Greiner began producing glass ornaments in the shape of fruits and nuts. Soon these unique Christmas ornaments were not only popular all over Germany, but began to be exported to other parts of Europe. They became very fashionable in Britain following the publication in 1846 of an illustration in a London newspaper showing Queen Victoria's Christmas tree decorated with glass ornaments from Prince Albert's native land of Germany.

Intended to help stave off the sub-zero cold winter air Glühwein (hot mulled wine, with or without a shot of brandy) and Eierpunsch (an egg-based warm alcoholic drink), are for many visitors one of the highlights of a traditional German Christmas market. These markets, which run throughout Advent, have been increasingly pop ular in Germany, Austria and the German-speaking Alsace region of France since the middle ages. Those held in the bigger towns and cities, such as Dresden and Frankfurt, now attract two to three million people per year.

They have also begun to be popular in the UK, ever since in 1982 Lincoln opened the first traditional German Christmas market here as part of its friendship and twinning with the town of Neustadt in Germany. Now many large UK towns and cities have one e.g. Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester and Bath.

Sincerely,
