Congratulations to
Virgin Trains
Champagne toast

We are delighted to congratulate our customers Virgin Trains on being nominated as finalists in two categories of The Achievement Awards, which were presented alongside the UK Excellence Award. The categories are -

Innovation

This award is for "innovative change to a product, service, process or way of working and for demonstrating customer and business benefit."

Virgin Trains were selected as finalists for this award for, amongst other things,  their "Pop up Shops" that make use of unused station space and support local businesses.

Leadership

This is for "leadership by example that inspires people to the highest standard of performance (anybody responsible for a team of people is a leader) and for exceptional leadership that achieves exceptional results. "

Leadership has been the key to creating a culture within Virgin Trains where employees put the customer first, as demonstrated by the successful implementation of employee suggestions to improve the customer experience.

-------------------

These awards have very exacting standards, so many congratulations to Virgin Trains on reaching the final in two categories. We are very proud to be working with them.

Newsletter - October 2014
_________________________________

Last week, on Thursday 16 October, we and some of our customers had a very enjoyable evening at the UK Excellence Award Ceremony, held by The British Quality Foundation (BQF).  The event was hosted by comedian, actor and TV presenter Alexander Armstrong in the presence of the Patron of the BQF, HRH The Princess Royal, who was in attendance throughout and gave a very supportive speech as part of the award presentations.

It was very inspiring, as always, to see the standard of the winners and finalists and to understand how much their commitment to the principles and application of the EFQM Excellence Model has contributed to their business success. In particular, it was very gratifying to see that our customer Virgin Trains were nominated as finalists in two categories of award. See our congratulations to them below left. Over the years ley hill solutions has been involved with many winning organisations and it's great to see them progressing to the highest levels of attainment.

Below is a list of all of this year's winners and finalists for the various categories of award. It is always worth considering these companies as potential benchmarking partners, especially those who work in similar fields or have gained particular recognition in any area where you yourself have identified improvement opportunities.

You may also wish to consider applying for one of these awards yourselves. Based on the EFQM Excellence model, they are not only a way of rigorously assessing all aspects of your organisation in order to focus improvement activity and enhance performance, but also a means of recognising achievement. The process involves external assessment and useful feedback from experienced people who have reviewed the performance of a wide range of organisations and have a very good feel for what "best in class" looks like in practice. It provides an excellent opportunity to focus improvement where it will be most effective and to recognise and celebrate those areas where you are doing well, which can enhance employee motivation and morale.

UK Excellence Awards 2014 - winners

Although we have always been members of the British Quality Foundation (BQF), who use The EFQM Excellence Model as their model of excellence, we have recently also become members of The EFQM, in recognition of the global nature of our client portfolio and our increasing need to network on a Europewide and indeed Worldwide basis. I myself am an EFQM Licensed Advisor and it is no small testament to our belief in the tangible benefits of The EFQM Excellence Model that we have the largest number of trained Master Assessors of any organisation in the UK and probably of any organisation in Europe,
