17th Sunday of Ordinary Time July 24, 2016

We are always told to put our trust and our whole selves in God's hands.   Imagine how the world would be if we all could do this, join as one, radiating the love that Jesus taught!

This weekend we raise our voices and hearts together in prayer once again, as Jesus taught us to do.   May we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit as we pray together for all people, children of God.

What's Happening here at Resurrection?

It is a quiet week - lazy days of summer!!

There is no second collection this weekend.

Thank you to everyone who gave blood last week!  I liked Fr. Noel's comment, "It's far better to give than to receive!"  :)

Please pray for all those in our parish who are sick and for those who are preparing to meet the Lord.  Especially pray for Agnes, she is our parish secretary, Mary-Clare's mother and for Dottie Nickels - a long time parishioner.

Each Thursday we will have an hour of Eucharistic Adoration, in the chapel, with recitation of the Holy Rosary and morning prayer.  This will be concluded by a Benediction with Fr. Noel.

Mark your calendar for October 22 - the installation of our new pastor, Fr. Noel Sanvicente!

Readings for the 17th Sunday of Ordinary Timw

Universal Prayers for July 24, 2016
PRESIDER:   Jesus taught us how to pray, asking his Father for our daily needs. Let us now raise up our prayers together for ourselves and the world.

For Pope Francis: that God will guide and inspire him as he meets with the youth of the world so that they may be faithful witnesses to the Gospel by their lives .   We pray...

For peace and comfort: that God will turn hearts to reconciliation and peace while healing those whose lives are forever changed by violence.  We pray...

For a renewal of the Holy Spirit in our lives: that God will refresh and deepen the gift of the Spirit who has been poured out into our hearts so that we may be dynamic instruments of God's love .   We pray...

For a deeper appreciation of our baptism: that we may recognize how we have been raised up to new life with Christ and now live as daughters and sons of God . We pray...

For the grace to be ministers of reconciliation: that we may witness to God's mercy by offering forgiveness to one another and by sincerely accepting forgiveness when we have injured someone.   We pray...

For the sick and dying: that God will comfort and guide them and that they may trust in God's promise of eternal life.  We pray...

Sunday Hospitality

We serve up Resurrection Hospitality each Sunday after the 8:30 am and the 10 am Masses.  Whether you are a "donut person" or not, still come over to Farana after Mass and enjoy the fellowship!    Are you outgoing and a "foody"?  Do you enjoy meeting people?  Consider joining our volunteer ranks!  The way things are going now, most volunteers work once a month or less.   We have some dedicated souls that help out more often.  We will work with you and your schedule so sign up!

Hello Hospitality Crew!
Thank you to all of you for dishing out the donuts that everyone looks forward to eating!!  Take time to chat, meet, greet, welcome etc.  This is a part of evangelization.

Hi Music Ministers,
This weekend the music is found here and there in all our resources!!  You will need your Choral Praise 3, Spirit and Song, and the Breaking Bread that's in the pews.  Please print from dropbox if you can!  I will have the following copies available on the counter:
~ Psalm
~ Spirit and Grace
~ Many and Great

We once again have the blessing of Baptism at the 1 11:30 am Mass.  Please be ready to sing:
    1. Litany of the Saints (Becker) When Fr. Noel finishes his homily, he will announce the baptism, at which time you will sing verse 1 of the Litany, as the family walks up to the font.  Camille and Annamaria, I have sent you the version to use this Sunday and it is in DropBox.
    2.  "Blessed Are They" refrain only - as soon as Fr. Noel says, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Immediately sing this refrain one time.

remember - All music is also in dropbox for your convenience.  Please bring your CP3 and Spirit and Song books to Mass.  If you do not have one yet, you may borrow a church copy from the choir room.

Links to music you can print for yourself:

Drop Box

Care-free summer!  Come early for your Mass, prepared with your music.  We are weaning ourselves from lots of copies (save the trees!)!  Print your own copies at home from dropbox and SAVE them in a binder. Bring your copies of Choral Praise 3 and Spirit and Song to every Mass.

If you do not have dropbox or you do not have the hymnals that we use, there are choir copies of Choral Praise 3 and Spirit and Song, in the choir room for you to use during Mass.  Please keep these books in the church so that they are there whenever we need them.  If you do not have your own personal copy and would like to purchase these so that you can take them home, please email me.

Please think ahead and be ready to assist the priest at all times!!  Walk with dignity and reverence!!

11:30 am servers - go to the font and help out with the baptism!!

When you are processing in to Mass and carrying Cross, candles etc. you do NOT stop and bow at the sanctuary steps.  The others do, but you continue the procession up to the candle and cross stand and then go to your seat.

At the beginning of Mass, please stand close to the Font so that you do not block the aisle for people to enter church.  :)
