Campaign TIP of the Week

Reporting Partial Campaign Results

Are you concerned about having cash and checks on hand that you have already collected, but your campaign is not yet complete? No need to wait until the end of your campaign-Simply call Neal Engelman at 529-4505 or the United Way office at 507-287-2000 and we will arrange to come to you to pick it up!

For you. this removes the worry about losing any of the funds you have collected. For your donors, this allows their check to clear their account, without having to wait for a long period of time to be able to put that 'checkmark' in their check book register.

For United Way it allows us to better track our campaign results and to send the thank you acknowledgement to the donor on a timely basis. Everybody wins!

A friendly reminder-please do not mail your campaign envelopes.

Winter Outerwear:

Preliminary Results

Preliminary results for last week's Winter OuterWear event held at the United Service Building on Thursday and Friday.
  • 2,240 individuals (606 families) were able to receive winter coats.
  • 80% of those who registered for this program attended the distribution last week.
  • 90% of those who attended the distribution, received a winter coat.
  • For people who were not able to receive a coat, approximately 243 vouchers were handed out over the course of the two distribution days. These vouchers will be able to be redeemed for a coat at the United Way thrift store as they continue to receive donationsfrom the community.

The greatest unmet needs were in youth boy and youth girl sizes as well as adult extra large sizes. As you ready your winter outerwear for the season ahead, please consider donating your extra, unneeded outerwear to the Salvation Army thrift store to help meet this need!

Thank you to all of the volunteers, business partners, and community members who made this event possible. It takes an entire community to make a difference and you did!
