Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
As our summer has kicked in to full gear here in Haiti, we are excited for all the Lord will do. Each summer, many teams visit The Lighthouse from all over to serve the children and people of Haiti and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lives are impacted on both sides and our mighty Lord is glorified. As visitors come, they are fulfilling our vision here at Child Hope to raise up disciples -- so that our children will one day "go out" to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Haiti and the nations. We welcome fellow servants of God to Haiti to be lights in the darkness, to offer hope to the hopeless and to share the love of Jesus Christ in abundance. We are so very blessed to host so many wonderful people with hearts to serve the love of God here in Haiti. Who give up time with their families, sharing their gifts and talents, using up precious vacation time, to serve those in need. Please keep these very special short-term missionaries in your prayers as they prepare and come, that they put on the "full armor of God" and that the Holy Spirit fill them with the love of God. From church groups, to Dream Teamers to the Camp-in-the-Box crew, they all will make an impact and a difference for the Kingdom of God. Prayer is powerful and makes a difference. The Camp-in-the-Box team recognizes this and has set up a 24-hour prayer site to insure that this year's camp is not just a fun event but an event that will impact hearts and minds for the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We encourage you to sign-up to pray for this special event. To Him be all the glory and honor and praise for ever and ever! "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14,16 NIV
God bless you!
In Christ in Haiti,
The Manasseros

New Child Hope Video Series - Video #3
The third installment of the Child Hope Video Series features Walgens Rely, one of the young men from the MDL boys home. Walgens, who will be graduating from The Lighthouse this year, learned silk screening through Child Hope's transition program and is now co-managing the silk screening business with his best friend and "business partner" Junior Fan Fan. Walgens came from a difficult background before coming to MDL that included voodoo, living on the streets of Port-au-Prince and having experienced the tragic loss of his mother to a hit-and-run accident in Port-au-Prince. Walgens' deep abiding faith in Christ and persistence helped him have victory over these difficulties. This short video is an inspiring glimpse at this amazing young man's story.
Next month, you will have exclusive access to the final video in this series through this newsletter. To view the videos you will need to type in the password: Haiti.
Produced by award winning Filmmaker, W. Ashley Maddox of Missionary Films, the videos take you inside "The Lighthouse," sharing an exclusive view of the ministry from the inside out. Maddox, who spent 6 days in Haiti capturing his own unique perspective of God's work in Haiti through Child Hope, was allowed free access to film the children and activities of the mission.
We hope you will be blessed by this and the other videos in this series. Feel free to post them on your Facebook page or other social media to share with your friends.
God bless you.

2013 Camp-in-a-Box Team Seeks 24-Hour Prayer
Camp-in-the-Box 2013 is next week and the MDL kids are counting the minutes. This year, the camp theme focuses on the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26). The teaching, worship, breakout sessions, games, and crafts will all offer the kids ways to learn about love, patience, joy, self-control, and more.
Much time, effort, and energy goes into planning, organizing, and putting together the annual Camp-in-a-Box. This much-anticipated event features games, crafts, and stories for the children at MDL. But it is only the power and presence of the Holy Spirit that can actually produce the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26) in the lives of the kids.
This year we are asking all of you who know and love our kids to consider covering the camp with prayer, that each person involved will fall more in love with Jesus and grow in their understanding of His love and plan for their lives. We are hoping for round-the-clock prayer coverage from August 2-12. If you are willing to commit to praying, you can sign up for a specific hour using this link.

Dream Teams 2 & 3 - Coming Soon!
Their back! That's right. We had such a wonderfully successful first Dream Team experience that we are offering two more Dream Team events November 30 through December 7, 2013 and April 4-11, 2014.
Personally hosted by Bill & Susette Manassero, these events are for people who have always wanted to visit Child Hope in Haiti but were not part of a formal church or other missions group. Individuals, couples, families and other interested people are invited to join one of these special teams, to experience a week at The Lighthouse, Child Hope's mission in Haiti.
The cost of the week is $800, excluding airfare, and will include all on-ground expenses such as room and board (three great meals a day), health travel insurance, transportation, and all activities. Space is limited, so to insure your place, register online with a $400 deposit per person. Interested people need to complete a brief application online. If you have any questions, please feel free to write us at info@childhope.org.

Transition Program Launches Summer Series
With an eye toward the future and a desire to equip every child with the best chance for success, Child Hope created the Transition Program. It is an essential part of our mission here in Haiti since the law dictates that each child must leave the orphanage by the age of 18.
Typically operating during the school year, we decided to add a special summer series for maximum benefit. Why is this so important, you ask? Haiti has an 80% unemployment rate and even a college education does not guarantee employment! Therefore, by learning a trade or vocational skill, they are able to support themselves until they have completed their educational goals and eventually land in the career they desire.
This summer, during the months of July and August, we have a

team of interns and regular staff offering intensive half-day training sessions on topics like; technology (web design, computer repair, etc. ) furniture making, sewing, jewelry making, baking and silk screening. And while this is going on we're even offering a special "Superhero" VBS for our smaller children!
We're very blessed to be able to provide this special program that has helped so many. Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and staff who are making this happen and for you, for your support and prayers that help make all we do here at The Lighthouse a continued reality. God bless you.
