Registration 2016-17 begins in June
While school just ended earlier this month, district administrators in Texas City ISD are already preparing for the 2016-2017 school year. New teachers are being hired and veteran teachers are learning new strategies in staff development, all in preparation for the students' arrival in August. That means the registration process needs to open now so we can plan appropriately.
New Students in TCISD, including new kindergarten students who were not enrolled at the Calvin Vincent Center for Head Start or pre-kindergarten, can register on June 21 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Simpson Education Support Center, located at 1700 Ninth Avenue North. Required documents needed for registration can be found on the TCISD Enrollment page.
TCISD will offer parents the convenience of using an Online Registration. Students enrolled in TCISD on June 2 can begin registering online starting June 28. Students enrolled in La Marque ISD on June 2 can begin registering online starting July 5. View important registration information on the District website. Online registration should be completed by July 28. Parents will verify and update address and contact information as well as completing other online forms such as bus contracts. Parents will receive an email confirmation when the process is complete. Two current proofs of residency are required annually. These can be scanned and attached online.
Registering returning students online is quick and easy. It can be done 24 hours a day so there is no need to take off time from work. Avoid the crowds and lines by registering online. Help is offered in the computer labs this summer for those who would like assistance. Parents can get help with online registration every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June 28 through July 26 at the following locations: June 28 in Blocker Middle School Room 702 (1800 Ninth Avenue N. in Texas City); July 5 at former LMISD administration board room (1727 Bayou Road in La Marque); July 12 in Blocker Room 702; July 19 at former LMISD administration board room; July 26 in Blocker Room 702.
Any students who did not register online can register on August 2 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Doyle Center; August 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Doyle Center; or August 4 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the College of the Mainland Gym. From August 5-19, registration for all students not already registered will take place at the child's school.
Students who are not registered before the first day of school will not be admitted to class. On the first two days of school (August 22 & 23) no students will be registered at each campus, but will have to go to the Doyle Center or former LMISD administration board room.
For questions about registration, visit the TCISD website or email registration@tcisd.org or call 409-916-0185.
