2016 Graduation reminders for seniors
Texas City High School Class of 2016 is happily counting down the days until graduation night. Here are some graduation reminders for parents of seniors regarding graduation practices, arrival time, appropriate dress and the District's rain plan.
Graduation rain plans for the weekend
raindrops-umbrella.jpg In case the weather is as bad as it is predicted, Texas City High School has rain plans in place.

Graduation is scheduled for Friday, June 3 at 8 p.m. at Stingaree Stadium. Seniors are to meet in the TCHS cafeteria at 7 p.m. If inclement weather causes a delay, we will start at 9 p.m. If inclement weather causes a cancellation we will move the ceremony to Saturday. (A decision will be made by 6:30 p.m.)

If graduation is moved to Saturday, June 4, the ceremony will start at 8 p.m. Seniors are to meet in the TCHS cafeteria at 7 p.m. If inclement weather causes a delay, we will start at 9 p.m. If inclement weather causes a cancellation we will move the ceremony to Sunday.

If graduation is moved to Sunday, June 5, the first attempt to hold an outdoor ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Seniors are to meet in the TCHS cafeteria at 1 p.m. If inclement weather causes a delay, we will start at 3 p.m. If inclement weather continues, we will move the ceremony indoors to Blocker Auditorium. The decision to move indoors will be made at 3 p.m.

In case there must be an indoor ceremony, the indoor ceremony must be split into two sessions. Session 1 will begin at 6 p.m. and session 2 will begin at 8 p.m.

Students with the last name beginning with Aceves and ending with Maldonado will meet in Blocker Cafeteria at 5:00 p.m. for session I (6 p.m. ceremony). Students with the last name beginning with Mango and ending with Zaro will meet in Blocker MS Cafeteria at 7 p.m. for session II (8 p.m. ceremony).
  • Each student will be given 6 tickets for their ceremony. No additional tickets will be issued.
  • All students with speaking parts in the program will attend both sessions
  • After session I, all students and parents will need to clear the auditorium so it can be cleaned and prepped for Session II. The foyer will be cleared of all students and parents for the Processional of Graduates for Session II.
  • No air horns or other noise making devices will be allowed in the auditorium. If any noise devices are used during the ceremony, the individual(s) will be asked to leave the ceremony.
Class of 2016 begins new grad tradition
TCHS started a new tradition this week when 30 seniors volunteered to participate in a Graduation Walk at Calvin Vincent Early Childhood Center and Kohfeldt Elementary School. Some of the seniors said they felt famous because of the applause and high fives from the younger students. The younger students admired the graduation regalia. Everyone needs someone to look up to. Thanks, Class of 2016 for providing that to the District's youngest students, the Class of 2029.

Gifts/food sold at Graduation Ceremony
Project Graduation 2017 will host a graduation gift table at this year's Class of 2016 Graduation Commencement. Gift items such as bouquets of roses and greeting cards will be offered. Project Grad will even be your ATM and provide cash back for the cards. Credit/debit cards and cash only can be used for payment. Booths will be located at both entrances to Sting Stadium and will open for business at 6 p.m.
