Pre-Registration begins for LM students
In order to plan for the 2016-17 school year, Texas City ISD will be conducting a Pre-Registration for students who currently live in La Marque ISD boundaries (not currently attending a school in TCISD). We will need preliminary information on all students living in LMISD who are either currently enrolled or who are not but plan to enroll for the 2016-17 school year. The downloaded pre-registration information can be submitted several ways:

1. Online/Email: Email the completed form.
2. Drop-box: Complete the form and drop in box at any current LMISD campus or at Simpson Education Support Center located at 1700 9th Ave. N. in Texas City.
3. Mail: Complete the form and mail to:1700 9th Ave. N. Texas City, TX 77590; Attn: LM Pre-registration
4. In-person: TCISD Administrators will be available from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at La Marque High School on Thursdays, Feb. 4, Feb. 11, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25 to answer questions and receive the pre-registration cards.

Additional blank forms are available at each LMISD campus. Thank you for your help in preparing for a successful school year for our students in 2016-17!
Formal registration will take place this summer, so parents do not need to provide the typical registration documentation at this time. Parents only need to indicate where they live and if they will be enrolling in public schools currently in LMISD attendance zones.

The next meeting is set for February 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the La Marque High School Commons, located at 397 Duroux in La Marque. The concept for this meeting is the same as the ones held in December and January. As additional information is available and decisions have been made, information will be shared. TCHS receives NFL Golden Football
As part of the nationwide Super Bowl 50 celebration, the NFL started the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll program to acknowledge schools and communities that have directly influenced Super Bowl history and impacted the game for the better.

High schools across the country, and around the globe, will be given a Wilson Golden Football for every player or head coach who graduated from the school and was on an active Super Bowl roster.

Texas City High School received this special football in honor of Diron Talbert, Class of 1962. Talbert graduated from TCHS and went on to play football at The University of Texas. He was drafted in the fifth round as pick 66 for the Los Angeles Rams. He was picked up by the Washington Redskins where he played in Super Bowl VII in 1972.

Diron Talbert as a defensive tackle started 157 games out of 186 in 14 seasons of the NFL. He had an iconic role as part of the long-standing 1970's rivalry between the Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 1974, was inducted into the UT Hall of Fame in 2005 and was listed as one of the 70 Greatest Redskins.

The NFL Foundation, which gave $1 million for the campaign, will also provide schools with the opportunity to apply for grants of up to $5,000 to support their football programs, along with a new character education curriculum.

Coach Surovik is pictured with TCHS Principal Holly La Roe. Coach Surovik will display this Golden Ball in the Field House for players to see. #SBHonorRoll #SB50

"Football has always been about more than wins and losses. The game teaches lessons that last a lifetime," La Roe said to Surovik during the presentation. "Through the football program, you are building men of high character by instilling values in your student athletes."
