LEADSopoly successful
This was the third time that the TCISD Foundation for the Future has hosted the Charles T. Doyle Leadership (LEADS) Program "LEADSopoly" event. LEADS is a leadership event for high school juniors and seniors that is sponsored by Texas First Bank. There are 7 Galveston County high schools involved in the program. This particular event was created by a group of students tasked with developing a leadership event for future programming. It turned out to be successful and popular with the students so it's implemented every two years now into the LEADS rotation. LEADSopoly is similar to Monopoly. Students have a budget and they are able to travel around a life-size game board. When they land on businesses, they have the opportunity to purchase them after interacting with local business representatives. There were 20 groups of 10 playing this game. Students learned about leadership, team dynamics, communication, and about local businesses.

Substitute Orientation will be held on Wednesday, November 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the TCISD Board Room.
A major priority of the Texas City Independent School District is the employment of highly qualified teachers as well as highly qualified individuals to serve as substitutes in the absence of regular classroom staff. District staff are sometimes unavailable to fulfill their regular assignments due to personal or family illness, professional development activities, or other school related duties and, in their absence, substitute team members provide the essential function of continuity of the educational process for District students.
