Soccer Booster Club selling ornaments
The Soccer Booster Club is currently selling Christmas ornaments for $10 each. They are made of shatterproof plastic with the Stings logo and name imprinted on both sides. Please email Kristi Rambin if you are interested.

Stingarette Dance Camp
The Texas City High School Stingarettes will host their annual Youth Dance Camp for girls and boys ages 5-14 (Kindergarten-8th grade) on Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the TCHS gym. Early registration is on Thursday, October 8, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the TCHS cafeteria (back entrance). Registration will also be available on the morning of the clinic beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Cost is $30 at early registration or $35 on the day of the camp. This includes a clinic t-shirt, a picture with Stingarette group leaders, and lunch (pizza and a drink). Additional spirit items will be for sale in the lobby.
Dance camp participants will show off their age group dances and the camp dance beginning at 1:30 p.m. for family and friends.

Cheer Alumni event
Texas City High School Cheerleader Alumni are encouraged to cheer on the sidelines during the second quarter of the Homecoming game on October 23. All cheer alumni must register and make payment by 5 p.m. October 9. Registration is $25 and includes a T-shirt for free general admission to the game. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Stingaree Stadium against the Willowridge Eagles. The Cheer Alumni Show Off begins in the 2nd Quarter. Email the Cheer Boosters with any questions. Once registration has been received, additional information, cheers and chants will be emailed.

TCISD typically hold Meet the Teacher Night so that you can briefly make face-to-face contact with your child's teacher at the beginning of the school year. Below are the dates and times for each event:

Marathon Petroleum makes donation
Marathon Petroleum is providing that extra support that takes education to a higher level for Texas City High School engineering and advanced science students. They donated funds to purchase a state-of-the-art 3D printer for students to apply learning skills with current technology. Shown are TCHS students Irvin Hernandez, Brooke Beanland, Engineering teacher James Jobe and Greg Goetschius.

Heights celebrates veterans all year long
Heights Elementary will be honoring U.S. Veterans throughout the school year at a variety of events. Below is a schedule of activities that will involve Veterans and 3rd grade students:
October 20, 12:30 pm--"Meet Me for Lunch"
November 10--"Celebrating Our Veterans"
January 20--"Patriotic Assembly"
March 9--"A Birthday Bash for Our Veterans"
May 27--Placing flags at Galveston County Memorial Cemetery--followed by a picnic lunch and closing activities.

Register for Youth Cheer Camp Friday
The Texas City High School Cheerleaders will host their Annual Cheer Clinic for boys and girls ages 5-12 on Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the TCHS gym. Early registration is Friday, September 18 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the TCHS cafeteria (back entrance). Registration will also be available on the morning of the clinic beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Clinic participants will show off the cheers, jumps and dance they learned at 2 p.m. for family and friends. In addition, Houston Texans Cheerleaders Libby and Megan will be at the event from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. for a meet and greet. Pictures are allowed.

Breast Cancer Awareness shirts on sale
The Stingarettes are taking pre-orders for Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society again this year.
You may place your order with any TCHS Stingarette or fill out the t-shirt order form and send it along with your payment to Ashley Hardage at TCHS or Janet Kettler at TCHS. The last day to order is September 24. Extra shirts will not be ordered. If you want one, your order and payment must be received before the deadline, September 24, 2015 at 2:50 p.m.
Adult Sizes/pricing: Adult S-XL, $15; Adult 2XL, $17; and Adult 3XL, $18. Please make checks payable to TCHS Stingarettes.
The shirts will be here the first week of October.

Hall of Honor Tickets on sale soon
The TCISD Foundation for the Future is holding an induction ceremony and banquet for recipients being inducted into the 10th Annual Hall of Honor on October 22, 2015, at the Charles T. Doyle Convention Center. The community is invited to purchase tickets to attend the dinner and silent auction. Individual tickets are $60 and tables of 8 can be purchased for $600. Seating is limited so reserve early. For more information about the dinner or about the Hall of Honor, call 409-916-0108 or e-mail Deborah Laine.
