Bottomline Technologies Acquires Slater Portfolio Company Andera for $45 Million
Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY), a leading provider of cloud-based payment, invoice and digital banking solutions, acquired Slater-backed portfolio company Andera, a provider of innovative customer acquisition solutions, for approximately $44.5 million in cash and 102,000 shares of Bottomline stock.

Slater Invests Additional $250,000 in Series B Financing of Tivorsan Pharmaceuticals
Together with Ocean State Angels and other co-investors, Slater invested an additional $250,000 in Tivorsan Pharmaceuticals in a Series B financing aggregating approximately $2.75 million. Based upon research in the lab of Justin Fallon, PhD, Professor of Neuroscience at Brown University, the life sciences start-up is developing therapies to treat serious neuromuscular disorders, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Slater's latest infusion of $250,000 brings its total investment in Tivorsan to $500,000.

Absolute Commerce Receives Another $100,000 from Slater
Slater recently invested an additional $100,000 in Absolute Commerce, bringing its total investment in the startup to $350,000. The company was also profiled in VentureFizz for its innovative e-procurement platform that combines pre-negotiated supplier catalogs with rich product content and robust search capabilities.

Slater Reinvests in VCharge
The Slater Technology Fund recently committed an additional $100,000 to VCharge, the energy management services company, bringing its total investment to $600,000. The company also won a $280,000 grant from CommerceRI's Renewable Energy Fund. VCharge was also recently profiled in Greentech Grid for tapping "ultra-cheap grid storage and energy arbitrage."

Prothera Biologics Relocates to Former FujiFilm R&D Facility in East Providence
ProThera Biologics became the first tenant in a recently launched wet lab incubator facility in the former research labs of FujiFilm Electronic Materials, located at 200 Massasoit Ave. in East Providence, R.I. Quonset, R.I.-based FujiFilm has been collaborating with Slater to re-purpose the 25,000-square-foot laboratory facility to support the launch of numerous materials and life science-based ventures. On April 24th, U.S. Representative James Langevin toured the facility and met with president and chief scientific officer Yow-Pin Lim, MD, Ph.D, to learn more about ProThera's development of biologics for treating a wide range of inflammatory conditions.
