LAKEVIEW EAST WINE & SWEETS STROLL

We've partnered with three of our local wine shops: wineHouse, Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine, and Paired Wine Co to put on a community Wine & Sweets Stroll on July 10th from 3 - 6pm. Wine distributors from these shops will be sampling their wines inside retail businesses throughout Lakeview East. Sweets shops will also be sampling sweets along the routes. In this event's inaugural year, we are featuring two routes, North and South. Each route is $25 and tickets are $40 for both! With the purchase of a Wine & Sweets Stroll ticket you will receive a commemorative wine tasting glass24 different wine samplesdelicious local sweets and 2 Laugh Factory tickets. Must be 21+. Get your tickets before they sell out!

SUMMER FASHION SHOW + SHOPPING EVENT
Hosted by wineHouse, the Colette Collection, Spare Parts, Vanille and Ingmar James Salon
It's summer in the city, so cheers to you feeling pretty! Join wineHouse, the Colette Collection, Spare Parts, and Vanille for a Summer Fashion Show and Shopping Event on Thursday, June 16th from 7 - 8:30pm at wineHouse (3164A N. Broadway). Guests will enjoy samples of macarons and petit fours from Vanille and wine from wineHouse while viewing this season's latest fashions from the Colette Collection and Spare Parts. Doors open at 7pm, with the show beginning promptly at 7:30pm. Grab your friends to make a night of it, and let's kick off a summer of seriously rockin' outfits and accessories! Tickets are $10/person.

FAREWELL BARBARA, 
HAPPY RETIREMENT!
 
It is with bittersweet emotions that we are saying goodbye to our long-time accountant, Barbara Craig, here at the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce. Barb has been with the chamber for the past 12 years and has been a wonderful employee, coworker and friend. She will be missed greatly by all. Please join us in wishing her the best of luck in retirement! 
INGMAR JAMES SALON

We held a ribbon cutting for Ingmar James Salon on Friday, June 3rd. We also got to take a tour of their salon space and it is gorgeous! Ingmar James Salon had their grand opening party last Saturday and had a wonderful turnout. If you were unable to make it, make sure you stop down at 3255 N. Broadway to say hello and schedule a hair appointment today! Check out their website here. 
STAN'S DONUTS IS OPEN! 

We joined hundreds of other people bright and early in the morning on Saturday, May 21st during Stan's Donuts' grand opening ceremony at their new Broadway location (3300 N. Broadway). We held a ribbon cutting ceremony for them that morning and Stan himself was there to cut the ribbon. We are excited to have a second location join us in Lakeview East and encourage everyone to head over there often to get their donut fix!
NETTELHORST PRIDE FENCE & HOPE TREE

Nettelhorst completed the install of their Pride Fence on Friday, May 27th! Parents, teacher, students and members of the community all helped out to make the fence bright, colorful and ready for pride. This year, a hope tree was also created where students and community members wrote their hopes and dreams on tags. Check them out next time you walk past the school. LAKEVIEW PANTRY HAS MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION

Lakeview Pantry is opening their new and permanent home at 3945 N. Sheridan Road this summer in a building that was purchased by the community, for the community.
A community day open house will take place on Saturday, June 25 from 12pm to 3pm if you'd like to check out their new space!

100 Proof Stand-Up Comedy will present a special Pride event co-produced with Chigaygo, the week before the parade, at 8 p.m. on Monday, June 20, $10. The program will be followed by an after-party from 9:30 p.m. to 12 midnight, which will feature DJ Greg Haus, is open to the public, and will feature a cash bar with drink specials. 

 

LGBTQ families are encouraged to come to the ComedySportz shows June 23-25 (Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, and Saturday at 6, 8 and 10pm) to celebrate Pride that's appropriate for all ages!

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
City of Chicago BACP Free Workshops 
The Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) offers workshops every Wednesday and Friday. Workshops vary each month and are conducted by City Officials, experts and partner business organizations. All workshops are free, and open to the public. Workshops are held at BACP's offices located at 121 N. Monthly Chicago Police CAPS Meetings 
CAPS has monthly community meetings where residents have the opportunity to talk to the officers who patrol their neighborhood.
