 HEADLINES
LAKEVIEW EAST BUSINESSES 3000 TO 3200 N. BROADWAY:
WATER BOIL ADVISORY UPDATE

Due to the negative impact on so many businesses and recent communications our office had with the Water Department, Health Department, Marianos, media outlets and the Alderman's office, there will no longer be a BOIL ADVISORY.  This means you can operate your business when the water turns back on and don't have to go through the health department's checklist or boil water, etc.

WATER WILL BE SHUT OFF ON MONDAY NIGHT 11PM-7AM, APRIL 4TH.  YOU CAN NOT OPERATE DURING THESE HOURS. YOU MAY RESUME OPERATING ONCE THE WATER IS TURNED BACK ON-- EST. 7AM ON TUESDAY, APRIL 5TH.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us here at the Lakeview East Chamber should you have additional questions or concerns, 773-348-8608.
LAKEVIEW EAST BIKE RACKS UPDATE

The Lakeview East Bike Racks were removed on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd for refurbishing and will be returned to their original locations in a few weeks. Signs were placed on the bike racks in advance informing the public about these removals. During the removal process some bikes were turned into the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce (3138 N. Broadway). If you believe one of these bikes could be yours, please call 773.348.8608 or stop in. You will be asked to describe the make, look, date taken and location taken from before the bike is returned to your possession.
PROPERTY TAX EDUCATION SEMINAR

Lakeview Business & Property Owners: In 2015, all Chicago properties were reassessed for property tax purposes. Given the city's aggregate tax rate continues to rise, making sure a property is valued correctly for tax purposes is crucial.

You have the ability to impact your property tax liability. For properties in Lakeview, assessments will be mailed on April 4th and appeals must be filed within THIRTY DAYS at the Assessor's Office.  A second opportunity to appeal to the Board of Review will occur later in the year.

On April 7th, the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce, Lakeview Chamber of Commerce and the Chicago Association of REALTORS® will present a property tax education seminar designed to equip owners with techniques to appeal their properties, the type of information needed for a successful appeal, and the timeline for appeals. Click here to register
