DONATE TO LAKEVIEW PANTRY

Looking to give back to your community? February & March are often the months the Lakeview Food Pantry gets the least amount of donations. Apartment People will be taking donations throughout the month of March for the Lakeview Food Pantry. A barrel has been placed at their Lakeview office (3121 N. Broadway). The most needed items are whole grain cereal, 100% shelf stable juice & jelly. All non-perishable/non-expired food items are appreciated!
LAKEVIEW EAST DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Lakeview East has multiple development project taking place over the next year. Check out our development page to stay up-to-date on information and plans.
WATER MAIN SHUT OFF

A water main connection for the Mariano's development at 3030 N. Broadway is coming up. Crews are expected to install the water main connection on Wednesday, March 23 from 11pm - 7am. Flaggers will be on site throughout the duration of the project directing traffic through the work zone. This work will require a water main shut off to businesses and residents on Broadway between Belmont and Wellington. Please call Dan at the 44th Ward office at 773.525.6034 or email dionisios.manoli@cityofchicago.org with any questions.
NO RIGHT TURN SIGN PETITION

We ask all affected by the newly installed sign to call or email Alderman James Cappleman to urge him to remove the No Right Turn To Broadway sign installed at the southeast corner of Halsted and Grace. The sign prohibits northbound vehicles on Halsted from making a right turn to travel southbound on Broadway. We want to reestablish the capability of making a right turn onto Broadway and to keep the lane and pedestrian crosswalk to the traffic island open. There was no public notice, outreach to those directly affected by the no-turn, or community meetings before the signs went up, and no traffic impact study was shared with the public. We do not believe there is any compelling reason to prohibit vehicles from turning right from northbound Halsted onto Broadway. In fact, we believe that the other options to get to the 3700 block of N. Broadway are much worse, driving traffic into residential neighborhoods, home to a busy synagogue and day school, and through areas that will soon start construction for new development projects. Please make sure to call or email Alderman Cappleman to ask him for the removal of this no turn sign and to keep the lane open to keep access open to Broadway and not drive traffic out of the area or push traffic to residential streets. JOIN US BY SIGNING THE PETITION!
