WELCOME NEW CHAMBER MEMBER
Camp Wiggles, a doggie daycare facility, opened its doors this Monday at 3647 N. Halsted St., across the street from Addison. The beautiful 6,500 square foot facility features opening skylights and non-porous rubber flooring designed specifically for veterinary applications. Dogs, or "campers", get to play in cage-free groups with their friends, separated carefully by size and play style. Camp Wiggles also offers a unique Sleep at Home Camp, where dogs get to socialize all day and sleep in their own beds at night as an alternative to boarding. This service includes daycare, pick up and drop off, feedings, before bed potty walk, and a tucking in. Camp Wiggles employs loving, attentive, and trained staff and also has a live webcam so you can watch your pup while you are at work. For more information and to register during their half-off March special, visit their website orcall 773.270.4916.

NO RIGHT TURN SIGN PETITION

We ask all affected by the newly installed sign to call or email Alderman James Cappleman to urge him to remove the No Right Turn To Broadway sign installed at the southeast corner of Halsted and Grace. The sign prohibits northbound vehicles on Halsted from making a right turn to travel southbound on Broadway. We want to reestablish the capability of making a right turn onto Broadway and to keep the lane and pedestrian crosswalk to the traffic island open. There was no public notice, outreach to those directly affected by the no-turn, or community meetings before the signs went up, and no traffic impact study was shared with the public. We do not believe there is any compelling reason to prohibit vehicles from turning right from northbound Halsted onto Broadway. In fact, we believe that the other options to get to the 3700 block of N. Broadway are much worse, driving traffic into residential neighborhoods, home to a busy synagogue and day school, and through areas that will soon start construction for new development projects. Please make sure to call or email Alderman Cappleman to ask him for the removal of this no turn sign and to keep the lane open to keep access open to Broadway and not drive traffic out of the area or push traffic to residential streets. JOIN US BY SIGNING THE PETITION!
