There is nothing more deflating than casting off a shawl and finding out that the cast off is way too tight. Do you really want to take back 600 or 700 stitches? 

There is a great cast off called Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.

I watched a few videos on the cast off and the one that I liked the best was Ysolda Teague's. Here it is.

If you watch this video (or any other 'how to' knitting videos) and are having problems understanding the technique, please watch another video. Sometimes you don't click with the person presenting and you might have better results watching another video.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Fair is one of the largest all-knitting events in Canada. For many years, the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters' Guild has offered a one-day fair organized "by knitters for knitters."

 

This Fair, held at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex in Kitchener, now presents approximately 70 vendorsoffering the latest and greatest of knitting products. Imagine 35,000 square feet dedicated to the craft of knitting, offering an incredible display of a diverse variety of yarns in an explosion of colour, knitting books, patterns, and accessories.
